The admin has to do any [sub]forum ordering manually. This is one (of the few) area in which vBulletin is lacking.
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?p=1486908 http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75002 And depending on how you set it up the first time it can be a real tedious pain to insert new [sub]forums into an alphabetical (or any) listing. |

See, now this makes more sense. Basically it can be done, but it's a pain in the butt. Good to know, thanks. Maybe someday in the future it will be revamped, but don't worry - I won't hold my breath.

Rats!
I had the courses established in the order that they were based on size of the leagues (and therefore its relative use). Thanks for working on it though Eric...but I want the courses with the most "hits" ordered to the top. I don't want to have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the TC Jester league stuff...

Larry, might I recommend the "End" key on your keyboard?
I do think the alphabetical listing makes the most logical sense and makes things the easiest to find. |

It does not make sense to give prime, "top of the page" listings to a bunch of 9-holer courses that never (or rarely) get played and ones that there aren't any leagues running on. When do those threads ever see any activity? I'm a big proponent of putting the stuff that is used most often where folks can get to it easiest/fastest. It's not that big of a deal, and I certainly appreciate the work you put into re-organizing it ERic, but there is sometimes a method to my madness. Hey! While you're at it, can you please move the Northside Chain Gang thread to the top underneath the HFDS club thread? |

If the rationale is league traffic... (1) How much of that actually happens on the forum? The Jester sub-forum is the only one that I recall getting any significant postings. (2) Who actually looks at the standard forum index? Don't people use the "New Posts" or "Daily Posts" links that make it much easier to find the updated postings? ... and speaking of the leagues, only two of the five (or six if you count the Commando) league pages on the main HFDS site are even current. My guess is that's where most people (especially new, non-member people) would go looking for current league information. Lastly, I'm confused as to why you'd want to move the NSCG sub-forum up near the top of the main index given your expressed desire to not have rarely used forums residing in prime index space? |

Well, I gotta say that I like the change. I think it makes more sense even to people who have been using the site for a while, so Eric - thanks for the hard work.
