I played this course today and it was fun. I was surprised because it is only 6 holes on a small little lot but the design is perfect. The risk versus reward is very good on this course. I played it 3 times in a row. I ended up with 4 down. Hole number 4 will be my ace hole. There is a nice little wall that blocks me from smacking that cage but I will get it. I birdied it twice today. Great course though.

I lost a Surge at this course a while back if anyone finds it. It was the disc I won from the Moffitt Ice Bowl with the Michigan skull stamp.

I'm campaigning to have this course removed from the area listing until it becomes at least 9 holes. Anything less than that seems like a waste of time to include in an area course listing.
Maybe if there is anyone that feels strongly that it ought to be maintained here like any of the other courses would also like to have a listing of area practice baskets too! |

Why not spend some time working on the website instead of wasting time on this small matter. Larry, who's got you upset?

I like this course. I think it is a great course to help strengthen your short game. They have some 300 foot holes but I have a hard time playing the 6 holes and scoring over 3 down. I usually average about 2 down out of the six.
What if we just alternative tee boxes like every other course in Houston like moffit. Move the extra tee boxes back 5 or 10 feet and than it would be a 12 hole course like Nottingham. Just a thought. |

It's not like it takes a lot of (or any really) time and/or effort to maintain the listing here. It's a legitimate course. It has better baskets that most of the Houston courses, better signs than most of the Houston courses, and has tee boxes that put Moffitt to shame. Technically it's better than some of the other area courses too.If you want to talk about "practice baskets"... Jester has a nice collection of those. Heck any course where I can shoot six down on nine holes (and another one down from the blues) my first and only time on the course has got to be easy.

And you could have easily hit a couple of walker/joggers in the process too!
Smoke, mirrors and a desire to shift attention..............from what I might ask?

I was just going by Matt's definition of a challenging course (on another thread):
Quote:
Point is just because a course only has six baskets doesn't mean it's not a real course, or not worth the time. Jim's clearly put in a lot of work there and the result is a decent little course on the land with which he had to work. BridgePoint is definitely more than a few practice baskets. |

I've played it and like it. I would also vote to see it "maintained" on this site.

Quick question to consider, what is a more “legitimate” course… Bridgepoint (6 holes), or Cedar Brook (9 holes)? The Church was more than willing to put in 9 holes, however, they were willing to take my advice and install 6 challenging/enjoyable holes versus installing another Cedar Brook.
By the way, I put in a lot of work last weekend and finally opened up the fairways on Hole 2, in addition to making several other improvements. One improvement I did not make personally, btw, was painting the tee-bricks orange. While orange makes the bricks easier to spot, it’s a little harsh on the eyes to me. Alternate tee boxes are in the works.
