I guess I was being naive about Terramont. I figured it wouldn't be much different than if a group of players met there to play & decided to throw some money into it. But I guess if anybody did notice then it could mess any kind of relationship with the parks department that we might have. It still doesn't make any sense to me why they want so much money to have an event there....the majority of the players would normally play there often anyway. Thanks, Mr. Blue, for anything you can do to work this stuff out with The Woodlands...Billy

As memory serves.......they ran credit checks on the Northside group when they did their thing out there. That was why Shawn was their TD, and the parks dept, (like they need more money) required a percentage of the entry fees for having the event out there.

Bottomline, I hope they have some new management with a more open attitude, allowing events to be held without their help/over-bearing stranglehold on the event.

There were reasons for the way they handled the northside guys the way they did. I think it is fair to say that mistakes were made on both sides of the issue. The fact that one of the founding members of northside was illegally scuba diving for discs in the pond after being caught the first time may have had something to do with it. The fact that they were caught selling plastic outta their trunk at the park which was a direct violation of local ordinances, and other run ins caused way more road blocks than what are traditionally thrown up even by The Woodlands.
That was several years ago now, and there are some different players in there now. Like I said, I'm waiting on contact information for the person that Chuck is dealing with so I can take a stab at it myself. As a resident, they usually respond a little better. Negotiation is going to have to happen here, I know, but the abandonment of effort for several years is a white flag, not a solution.

Mr. Blue (a Woodlands resident) tells me that he is almost 100% sure he can talk The Woodlands into letting us have our mini in December (the 6th is what's on the calendar right now) out there....and without having to pony up cash & bend over please! We'll see how that works out. Matt took me over there Sunday after the mini at SV and it's a cool 9-hole course...lots of elevation changes (Rick Hopper & I were panting up & down those hills) and an interesting design (thanks Jake!).

my friends and I usually play 4 times around that course on Sundays (36 holes)
and my wife wonders why I come home drenched and exhausted each time.

It's not a lefty course for sure...so it's extra sweet to get a win in there.
