Update: Work on the second course reached a new high a couple of weeks ago with 2 work days in a row. Five baskets of the back 9 were installed and are playable. The other 4 will be completed soon.
4 holes of the front nine still need clearing before we can install baskets on the front. We plan to get working again late July. If anyone would like to help, plan on coming out Saturday July 26th with a chain saw. It's taking a long time to accomplish this project, because there are very few people working on it. But It's coming along now that we have received design approval from the county. Come out and play the 5 we have installed and let me know what you think. Jake |

A map of the second course is posted on the information board at the other course. The course work needs a capable sign/grahics person to help with stuff like tee markers, course maps, and general signage in anyone is interested give me a shout.

By the way, people....if you haven't been out to Brooks lately & seen the new holes that are already installed, then you owe yourself a trip. We all also owe Jake some gratitude & especially some helping hands to get the rest of the new 18 together. I haven't gotten out to help much lately...that must change! Once the new course is done, Brooks is going to be one of the best courses around...please get involved & help make it happen.

Isn't there going to be a couple of shots over water? If so , how far are these shots?

Not very far and even shorter if Jake makes in a 320ft anhyzer over the water VS the 450ft hole he has currently. Then again I think more people would go in the drink my way, |

If anyone is interested, we are working on the second course this weekend (August 16th) from 9am until around 1pm.
The plan is to clear a few more holes in the bermuda triangle. Come out if you can help. The county is scheduled to bring their chipper. Hope to see a few people out. Jake |

I would love to go to Klein park Saturday, but, I would love even more to work on Jack Brooks championship course. By the way, what makes a course a championship course? Is it the total length?

We're working in the shade if that matters to anyone. To your question what makes a course "championship". I would think many things go into a course looking and functioning as a championship course. Look at most of the courses in Houston, then compare to say Wimberley; all the differences; that's what makes a course champioship material. Lenght is just one criteria. |
