Yep and yep. Too bad too because I thew a personal best out there by five strokes, which is usually good enough to win no matter how many people show up... the wind was blowing pretty solid on Tuesday and I managed to not take a single OB stroke. In the end, I made my donation to TxSDGC and the ace pot and tacked another win streak penalty stroke onto my total....

I would really like it if you added River Point to the rotation. It's really a nice course when it's dry.

I'm hoping that things fall into place so that the Aug 11 Mini is out at River Pointe Church DGC. The handicap mini is based on an 18-hole round so I'm working to get some interesting alternate tees out there.

Default Southwest Handicap Mini - 8/4 @ Tom Bass - Powell

Next up: Tuesday 8/4, tee time is 6:00 PM.

The
Southwest Handicap Mini will be playing at Tom Bass Regional Park - Powell. Meet in the pavilion by the tennis courts, i.e. by holes #1/4/18.

Entry fee $7; includes $1 Ace Pot, $1 to TX States fund, and $5 goes back to payout. Payout will be top 45% of finishers.

The series points being earned for playing since 6/30 will be used for a series Finale event.

The traveling ace pot payout is currently $89. This Mini is a fund raiser for next year's Texas States so please come out, play some disc golf, have some fun, and show your support.

For the SW Handicap Mini realistic handicaps are based on your PDGA rating and your recent performance on SW courses with specific emphasis on the course being played that week. Also, several other effects are factored into the handicap such as the level of course difficulty.

Regards,
ERic

Default Southwest Handicap Mini Series Finale Invitational - Oct 6

The Southwest Handicap Mini Series Finale Invitational

When: Tuesday, October 6th, 2009
Time: ~5:30pm
Course: TBD

$250 added cash payout divided among at least the top eight finishers.
  • Top eight series point earning players are automatically entered for free.
  • Two other wildcard free entries will go to two players who played in the most weekly Minis but are not among the top eight point earners.
  • Anyone else who has played in at least eight weekly Southwest Handicap Minis can pay a $20 entry fee to play.

The Finale will be played with the handicap format just like the regular events. The course to be played at the Finale will be chosen at random from among the usual courses in the rotation.

As of the June 30th Mini, players have been earning points based on how they finish in the weekly Handicap Mini standings. Those points are going to be used to qualify for the Finale as well as to award a special SW Handicap Mini Series stamped CFR disc to the top 20 point earning players.

Invitational rain date is October 13.

Thanks to my sponsors:

And eat he did with Michael taking first place on a solid round in typical Powell wind. Jim won this week's CTP (hole #2) for which he took a Marshall Street Open hat.

Good turn out this week and remember the points you're earning will qualify the top eight for free entries into the Series Finale Invitational. Others will qualify based on participation. See the details one post earlier.

Thanks to my sponsors:

Here are the current points totals:

Remember, points only started accumulating as of June 30 when the first announcement about the season ending bonus was made:

The points will go towards some sort of season ending bonus/playoff/etc.. I haven't yet completely worked out what the season ending bonus will be: more details will follow.

Thanks, Eric! Rick Hopper had the shot of the night with a needle-threading upshot in the woods on our card.

Come on out, y'all this is some fun stuff!
