No, I've actually followed the development of the skatepark since well before it was open. Ironic that you read a couple of posts from me and think you've figured it out, isn't it?

Joe Jamail's donation of 1.5 million arrived about two weeks before the fund raising deadline for the park (
cite). The park probably wouldn't have happened without his effort, but he was hardly behind it. There is no mention of Joe Jamail's sponsorship or donations to of any Houston area theater that I could find online (and theaters love to publicly thank their sponsors). I did find out about him giving
$25K for sea turtles and
$100 million to UT Austin. Seems like a good guy, but he is a lawyer.
If you are going to make statements about Jamail being a front for a "group of anonymous theater crowd donors" please cite your sources so we can separate fact from fiction.

People like me huh? Do you mean people like me who
call up city parks departments asking them what they plan to do about disc golf courses lost to softball fields? Or maybe you mean people like me who help
organize fund raising for a new 18 hole course on Clear Lake? Or maybe you're talking about people who try to
identify area parks for future disc golf courses? You've got me pegged all wrong.
The changes to the Mozola to accommodate the skatepark minimally affected the course. Hole 1 was removed and the old hole 9 was split into two holes. Sure it is a shame that the course had to be changed, but the park is a
public park and we
share it with joggers, bikers, families, bums and now skate boarders.

If every disc golfer had the attitude you've exhibited here I imagine it would be even harder to get land for courses. No city parks board would give space to people besot by paranoia (They are ready to come in and remove disc golf are they?) who's first reaction to an alternate point of view is to launch into ad hominem attacks.
Fortunately most disc golfers I've met are friendlier folk, and the skatepark has never caused me any concern during a round out at Mazola.
