I'm okay with a .pdf version of this stuff, but the problem is that most of us don't have the ability to create a .pdf file without having additional software installed. I tried to shy away from that if I could in favor of straight HTML. I know that I can produce .pdf from Excel, and Word but I have the entire Adobe Creative Suite installed which included a full version of Acrobat...

It seems like most folks these days would have a .pdf viewer installed.

From the point of building the site - the excel HTML pages are very wide and won't fit into the standard page size the template is designed for. Can look into secondary templates but PDF would be a cleaner solution.

There are converters available to create PDFs from Office without purchasing the full version of Acrobat.

You can also use OpenOffice which is a free (and legal) application suite that can open 99.9% of Microsoft Office's files.

I use OO almost exclusively, but then I work in Ubuntu. It also has a built in pdf converter.

For those on the Mac, OO also runs there so if you go to that Office Suite, you can go between all three systems very easily.

If you have the new version of Office (the opne that defaults to docx, xlsx, etc) then there is also the option to save as a pdf. If not you could install a pdf printer. It's very handy. It will let you save anything to a pdf file that can be printed. You do have to install it, but it's free.

I didn't know that Microsith had added this functionality... finally. If you give them enough time, they almost always catch up... most of the time.

Just a reminder though, the last time I checked, the docx format got rejected by the international standards committee. odf, the format that OO uses has been approved. Just doing my part to end the reign of the evil empire.

I've found it best to post the image on a server and just point to it. Try http://imgur.com/ - it's a great free image hosting service (flickr.com works too).

Are you uploading one of the approved file types and ensuring that it is under the size limit for that type? The restrictions are listed in the upload pop-up.

I'm attaching an image to this post to test.
