Tourney Trophy Discraft Ace Race at Oak Meadow Park - Aug 13, 2011

When: August 13, 2011. Flex start between 9:00 and 10:00. Registration opens at 8:30.

Format: Two rounds of 18 holes, one throw per hole per player.

Course layout: Holes are generally between 100 and 250 feet.

Entry fee: $25

Player package: Guaranteed to be at least twice the value of your entry fee! The 2011 player pack is expected to include two Discraft prototype discs made especially for the Ace Race, plus a SuperColor mini, sticker and sweet disc bag for every player. More than a $50 value!

Registration: Pre-registration is required. Limited slots will be available after July 23rd. Download registration forms at http://discgolfacerace.com/downloads/2011reg.pdf. Mail check or money order to Ramsey Womack, 17222 Williams Pine Dr., Cypress, TX 77433. Registration by mail must be received by July 23rd to guarantee a spot. After July 23rd, PM JRW III or email ramseywomack@gmail.com to inquire if a limited spot is available

Rules of play: Players are required to use the player package discs, and only these discs. If a disc is lost, the player has the option of using the second disc from the package. Only one throw per player per hole. All players should have their own scorecards and mark "A" for aces and "M" for holes on which they hit metal. After all players in the group have thrown, discs are picked up and the group moves directly to the next tee. Players keep their scorecards for round two, using the next line on the card to record the round. The player with the most aces after 36 holes is declared the winner. In case of ties, the number of metal hits is used as a tie breaker. If a tie persists, a closest to the pin contest is then used to determine the event winner.

Prize package: Grand prize is a Discraft merchandise package, including a bag and eight premium discs.

Optional Event: Casual round to follow Ace Race

Kind of a shame to hold an ace race at such an awesome course that the public never gets to play on.

This could make it worthwhile depending on the definition of "casual".

Default Optional Event: Casual Round

Regarding the Optional Event – Casual Round, there is no set structure. This is merely a way for me, as a resident of Bridgeland, to invite the Houston area disc golfers to be my guests to play a round of disc golf at Oak Meadow Park. In the past, some like to play immediately after the Ace Race, while others prefer to take a lunch break and then play. There is no money involved, just a chance to enjoy Oak Meadow Park.

Played this event last year and had a great time! Love the course. Looking forward to playing it again this year. Thank you, Ramsey, for all of your efforts!
Check is in the mail.

Just wanted to remind everyone that this Saturday is the deadline for getting a guaranteed spot. I will order extra players packages, and after Saturday, they will be on a first come, first serve basis.
