TC Jester - course expansion

Houston Parks and Recreation Department will begin the TC Jester course expansion on 8/10/2011 (next Wednesday). We've been assured by Marshall Broadway of HPARD that they will keep nine playable baskets in the ground during the project. Phase 1 will be to move some of the existing baskets to their new placements (across the bayou near 43rd Street bridge) and then phase 2 will be to install the 12 new baskets.

I am anticipating that by the end of this next Jester-4 league, we'll be playing on the newly redesigned 21-hole course! We'll have to see how to juggle our format around to incorporate as much of the course as possible.

I encourage everyone to come out next Thursday 8/11/2011 to play league on the new course.

The basket move planned for today has been delayed a bit, it could be tomorrow or it could be next week. Parks and Rec. will let me know as soon as they start the work and Ill post the update here.

What is the reason they cited for missing the scheduled date that they set for it to happen?

When HPARDs representative, Marshall Broadway spoke to us at the meeting last week, he gave the impression that this date was very firm.

Latest news: The new tee posts are being painted as we speak. The basket move is 'tentatively' now scheduled for Tuesday

They are having some delays from other projects, but it should be any day now, Ive been talking to them just about every day and things are still moving forward.

Public departments move slowly. The best thing to do is to stay in touch with them and offer help.

Very true, our city contact is a good guy and doing everything he can, but even he is stuck within the bureaucracy.
