Billy you have to realize, if you drove out of town you would be able to play. You just might have to move up a division. It's pretty tough for open players to move up, cause for the most part they can't move down, unless their rating permits. As for some that don't play your events. NO DAY OF SIGN-UPS. That's my beef. I can play in many different divisions if I choose and have moved up many times, single and less than four player divisions, Petty

Have to concur with the old guy. For a group who claims to be open to suggestion, you guys sure are inflexible.

I am sure I will be burned at the stake for that comment. By those new communists. LOL

BTW......I've never played Twin Parks, and that is where I'll be headed.

The ONLY thing we've been steadfast on is the pre-registration. If you guys can't understand or don't care about our reasoning behind it then I'm sorry. As I said before, if we had a core group of people that we knew would be there then maybe it would be a different story...ultimately that's up to Chuck & right now he likes it the way it is (especially since he's the one doing the paperwork with PDGA). We've been open to suggestions & changed a couple of things (like extending titledisc another day)....I find it hard to believe that the only bone of contention is the pre-reg stuff! And as far as having an idea whether or not you'll have decent competition, it seems to me that with pre-registration you know going in. How would morning of the event help you if you are the only open player to show up? Of course, we would let you play in a lone division if you want to...PDGA says that's okay & up to the TD. Sure, it's not any competition...but you can still play if you really want to...and we will not force you up into a division that you either don't belong in or would get trounced in. It's my understanding that some of the out of town events will either say move up or go away. I know we can't please everybody...but we try. I'm tired of defending our stance on this subject though.....either you'll pre-register & come out & play with us or you won't...if not, then it's your loss.

I think because we are accustomed to being able to decide the night before whether to go to a tournament. Simply, we are spoiled.

Thank you for what you do!

I don't believe I've ever been told to go away, at least not from a tourney.

I think I was remembering something Larry said about going to an out of towner & not letting him play if there was no division for him to move up or in to. Anyway...it's good to see the good humor & we appreciate the fact that you appreciate our efforts...now c'mon out & play, gawldarnit!!!!

If I sign up early, and then have to cancel let's say on Friday, I can't get my money back.

One person divisions (when that doesn't need to happen)
One person divisions (those doing have alternatives)

And I still haven't gotten over Nicole being abandoned at Mozola. {shaking head} I just don't get that one, and ignorance isn't a good excuse for this one.

One person divisions, oh, I already mentioned that.

Oh, one more thing.............wrecklessly moving tee boxes. Thereby changing the dynamics of holes that didn't need to be moved any way but BACK behind boxes deemed poor.

If these were the only pdga events I had ever played, I wouldn't realize what I was missing out on. I have put on my wicked woman cape and just want to complain. j/k
Guys you are serving a need and thanks for that. Over time, you will get better at it, good luck in the future.

Nor should you, per the PDGA 2008 Competition Manual section 1.3.D.

Note also section 1.2.A which states "Pre-registration is required for PDGA Major & National Tour events and strongly suggested for all other tier events."
