Many of the long teeboxes are in rough shape and because of land ownership issues we are not allowed to make any permanent type improvements like concrete tees (or even gravel) So the Brazos Valley disc golf club is in the process of decommissioning some of the really thrashed tee boxes and repositioning the dirt tees to a clean fresh spot. Some of the moves are minor and do not affect the overall hole by very much, but some moves make the hole quite different.
The layout will become the new permanent course and I am hoping to get a good SSA for that layout with this event. So we will be playing 2 rounds from the newly redesigned long tees. At least half the holes will be familiar but the other half will be new looks that locals are not yet familiar with either. |

Turout is looking pretty good for this one. There are 40 pre-registered at this point but I have been told by MANY people that they are coming out and will pay on the day. At this rate we may fill up which would be unheard of in College Station. Do not worry, I will not turn anybody away. I can set out additional baskets if necessary.
I do have a new map complete with distances. The course has all new tee markers put in place now so anybody coming out early can easily play the new course at this point. I don't have the map yet posted anywhere but really it is not much different on paper than the old map. All the changes are slight in regards to feet from pin, but on many the new locations, even though only 15-20 feet from the old pin, causes new trees to be in play or new route options...etc. But you will not be able to see that on the map. Im making cool trophies today. See ya out there Tom |

When you calculate in the players pack disc, all amature divisions are getting over 100% regardless of PDGA fees.
For Pro divisions, there is no players pack (because pros usually don't care about that stuff), $2 goes to PDGA and $3 is taken out as the pro contribution to the tournament expenses, prizes, etc. The rest stays in payout. So an MPO pays in $50, $45 stays in payout...which is 90% MPM pays in $40, $35 stays in payout...which is 87.5% I make exception for age protected pro women with entry fee at $30, they pay $2 to pdga and $2 to tournament so that their payout stays over 85% At this point, all of this is mute because there are no pros signed up. I think they are all going to Victoria. If you decide to come out and there are no pros to compete against, you can play in an am division for merchandise so long as your rating is under 970 Thanks Tom |
