The tee pads are in and the poles for the baskets are in; however, the baskets are not on the poles. You can throw the course as long as you can putt into the pole instead of a basket.

I went there the other day, threw most of the holes and walked the rest, not sure of the exact distances but it was mostly short with some sharp angles, maybe 1 or 2 medium/long holes, very tight similar to the kingwood course, heavily wooded, i dont think theres any holes out in the open

There were no open areas to design any open holes at this site. The course is completely 'carved' out of tree covered terrain. But every hole has a 'fair way', unlike Kingwood (in the beginning) where we were restricted from taking down any tree 4" or more in diameter.
The Conroe Parks Department has done a stellar job in allowing us to tweak (remove trees to create fairways) and tweak (remove additional trees to insure ‘fair ways’) the course into form as we began looking at what we came up with. Yes, there are some tightly wooded holes, but nothing that was not thought out. The distances of the holes have a lot to do with how tight a hole might be. The longer the hole, the more room for flight. The shorter the hole (not in all instances) the tighter or more angle or extreme flight of the disc required. We spent 6 months studying the 20+ acres of very heavily wooded land before coming up with a flow and design. It took an enormous effort and a tremendous amount of time to come up with a design and to mold it into a playable layout. It's still rough and the learning curve for the park's department on the upkeep of such a wild piece of environment will continue for a while. But once it begins to break in it will be played a lot. It's designed to be challenging but fun. Say what you think, but in the end, it was not designed to be a distance contest, but a contest of accuracy with many different shots. The bottom line is, as Ed Headrick said... the most fun wins.. ![]() We will post to this forum as soon as the compete baskets have been installed. |
