Actually, we're extremely fortunate to have so many courses (of varying levels) inside the city. Other places I've been have the vast majority of courses are outside of the city where the land is more available.

In other parts of the country, high level courses are seen as fun for rec./casual players and at the same time are good enough to challenge and help grow the next generation of pros.
I agree with this to a large extent, but I've also seen "Moffit Syndrome" in places that don't have a premier, challenging course. I think the Jester redesign will go a long way to resetting expectations of n00bs here. Even though it can be far more challenging, it's still beginner friendly in that you shouldn't be too concerned about losing a disc (as long as the grass gets mowed). I spent some time in Minneapolis/St. Paul a few years ago, and the premier course (Kaposia) was pretty empty while some of the other courses had 3 groups waiting on hole-1 every evening.

Thumbs up Re: Next Volunteer Project

Regarding concrete for Jester: Larry and I and others talked about concrete boxes for the Short tees only because of the expense would be a little bit more than $6000. We would follow the same model that we did with Moffitt, meaning we would have a bag tag challenge. We already have bag tags from the Paragon Disc Golf shirts deal. And possibly one or two other fundraisers at Jester to raise the six grand in the club would likely underwrite some others too. We would like to finish one fundraising effort i.e. the $3000 underwritten by the club for the Agnes Moffitt concrete two boxes that we are still looking to recover, there's no reason we can't go forward with fundraising events for Jester. Bring on the concrete!
