In doing research for a film I am doing about disc golf I ran past this article:
http://inventors.about.com/library/weekly/aa980218.htm In the last line of the article there is information about Headrick's patent for the flying disc. It is US patent 3,359,678 - issued to Headrick and Wham-O on December 26, 1967. This gave me goosebumps because Michelle "Missy" Deering, my fiance and avid disc golfer, was born on December 25, 1967, one day earlier. The only reason the flying disc was not patented the day Michelle was born is because she was born on Christmas day and the US patent office was closed. That is way cool! The only thing cooler than that .......... I was born on December 26. No wonder we love this sport so much, huh?
