So is his name a coincidence too or do people just call him that?

No, but it's Steve Dufrane (different spelling)....and he was busy Saturday trying to make the place look all nice for us in a couple of weeks. I played the course for the first time (along with C.J. & Tiffany & Chuck) and had a lot of fun but didn't have such a great score! It probably takes a few times around before you start to maybe get to know the course....LOTS of trees & a few water holes as well. It's beautiful up there though & a very challenging course.....and we saw no country boys with 3 teeth telling us we had a pretty mouth, so we escaped unharmed! This will be a fun tournament to end this year's series with, so everybody get signed up now....we don't want to have to send the dogs out after you!

Hmmm... This might cause a ruckus, but I'm going to plop it out there anyway. Those of you who are paying attention to the overall points competition in each division (and maybe even those who aren't)--What do ya'll think of the idea of grouping the players on the cards in order of points for the first round? That way, the ones who are in the hunt can play with the ones who are trying to catch or stay ahead of them. I don't think it would be fair to do this on the second round, as it would probably deprive the tournament leaders of the reward of being on the top card. This is just an idea, but if anybody wants to make it personal, my mother is off limits, but my black belt brother with a short temper and long memory is fair game.

Excellent idea High Iron. Your neurological synapses are crisp today. Consider it done as long as Billy and I remember to do it Friday night. #21 will not be tin cup. One throw penalty only and then on to DZ if not on the island. Time constraints you know

LoL!!! Yeah Miller, he named it that because of his close proximity to the Huntsville prisons... His whole course has every hole with a name from a prison theme... The Jail...Get Out of Jail...etc... I can't remember them all though. I just know them as "number 1", "number 2", etc.

It is a surprisingly good and challenging course that makes the most out of all of the topography he has available...tunnel woods shots, long open roller/hyzer shots, up rolling hills and down them and across ponds and around them. Lots of good variety. I've played it 3 times now and I like it more and more every time I play it.

If you are sitting on the fence about it, I really think that you wouldn't be disappointed to make the drive up there to play in the tourney...it isn't like any other course in Houston.

oh! and another thing: I thought I'd heard that Steve was making the entry fee structure to include one of his grilled steaks (usually t-bones) with some double-baked potatoes... If this is true, then those steaks and spuds come with my highest recommendation too! He did an excellent job of grilling them and the potatoes were awesome! (I think he must've had some caterers hiding in the pantry or something... )

Steve did not say what is going to be on the menu. I think the steaks are part of the $25 package. We shall see soon. He usually has beer and sodas in a tub. The cards will be seeded by division points. Remember everybody, the tournament schedule stays the same 7:30 - 8:30 check in and warm up, 8:30 players meeting, 9:00 tee off.
