Ike left its mark on the beloved Bear Branch course. Yesterday, the park was unapproachable as there were trees fallen on both sides of the entrance, and Research Forest was blockd from the park and beyond. Water had made it half way up the hill on 5.
Today, the water had receeded slightly, allowing us more access. 12 is up to the basket under water, with trees fallen on both 1 and 12. 18 has a falen tree and part of a stadium light cover down beside it. As stated before, when power is back, I have some impressive pics I'll post here. I hope this finds everybody safe. |

Mr. Blue,
Thank you for the updates on the North courses. Sounds optimistic so far. I will try to check out Jack Brooks tomorrow and post an update. My family and I just got back a couple of hours ago and to my surprise the power, water and phone was on with no structural damage to the apartment building here in League City.

Holy cow! I have never seen water on those holes. 7-9 were always a given, but not on those.

Amazingly, I spoke with a couple of Chain Gangers who said that the course is completely playable again, and that there are only 2 trees that need to be removed. One on 12, and the other by the bench on 13 which is blocking the tee box. Chain Gangers will have those removed this weekend.

A tree must have just fallen in the last day or so on number 8. Its blocking the basket, and needs to be removed, or at least cut back.
