I completely agree about the risk vs. reward. I would just like to see a few more hole that border on the go for it for 3 or take the 4 safely. I think Houston could definitely benefit from more of those since we have a very large supply of of go for 2 or safely 3's. If you can throw a full drive and risk a second long shot for a putt, I think that will raise our level of play overall. It's just my opinion. But I do agree with the Houck school of risk/reward design.

If you were planning on coming out there Sunday, I'll be out there to run league (which starts at 1:00)...the past couple of weeks a lot of us have been going over to the second course after we finish league (usually around 3:00-3:30). I could probably be convinced to meet you guys out there earlier before league....say maybe 10:00? That way we could play & I'd still have time to eat some lunch before league starts....if you're interested give me a call at 832-659-8449.
Thanks though. Ended up going to the Links instead.

I believe holes 5, 6 and 7 (the bermuda triangle) will fill that need.

I do know... I gave up trying to convince people they should put back a little of what they take. Ask Boo, I think he still cares. 10 years trying and I'm too busy with real life stuff right now to care much. Maybe next year.

Maybe after Mardi Gras is over.

Anyone free Monday 16 February?

28 March might be the next Saturday I have available. I will have the triangle layed out with flagging after Monday, so people like Rob can work on the holes at his leisure.

My time in town is just very limited this year. I warned people in October. Boo has a handle on what needs to be done.

I know one thing... People better stay out of the freakin water!

I don't think that is ever gonna happen. Maybe something needs to be posted, or is there a sign that says swim at your own risk? I think the latter.

That was the comment I made to the county. Sign it, so you can say "read the sign".

I know you've got a lot of out of town committments this year, Jake....but don't be fatalistic! I think there are a lot of people excited about the new course....surely Boo or Birdshot or somebody can organize some of these people to help out to finish those last three holes (and do some more general clean-up of the existing ones). Things will calm down a little bit for us after States is done with...and I for one will be ready & willing to head out there any Saturday (when we don't have a tourney) and/or Sunday to do whatever I can. Okay, maybe it won't be finished in time for World's Biggest....but I'll bet we can get 'er done in time for the Birdshot tourney in the fall!
