Jake I can't promise you I can make it out there this Sat morning as it's over 65 miles one way from my house, but if I can...what tools would I need to bring? And will you be there at 9am?

I'll be there before 9am if you can make it out. If you have a chainsaw and know how to use it, bring it. If not, bring aa good pair of gloves. Maybe a pole saw too if you have one. We appreciate the help!!!

I spoke with the county again yesterday. Still on board with bring the chipper out. But we have been told that before.

Just got off the phone with the county parks dept. The chipper and help from the community service folks will be available tomorrow.

Come out if you can and bring your instrument of destruction or at least gloves.

Thanks to the folks that turned out Saturday. Chipping was a blast! Holes 14 and 8 are almost ready.

A quick update: Holes 18 back thru 8 have been cleared and some even have baskets installed.

Next we need to tackle holes 7,6 & 5 making up 3 long through the woods holes.

Holes 4, 3, 2 & 1 are cleared but require some re-clearing and refinements.

With everyones help the park will be disc golf mecca. Not with out your help though. Plan on helping the third weekend in September. We can get this thing done.

I was out at Brooks a few weeks ago and took some photos of the new course with my iPhone. The addition of this course will make the park _the_ destination for disc golf on the south side of Houston. The existing course is one of the best already and from the looks of things, the second course will be even better.

And here's one of the wooded holes:

Shallow enough for search and recovery efforts....

Note to the south side chain (saw) gang: we are working next Saturday and Sunday. Nice photos by the way.

Just wanted to put it out on this post that there will be another work day this Saturday at 10 AM....most likely starting at the new course. There might still be some cutting that needs to be done on the old course to get ready for the tournament on the 11th. Look for the gang (Jake, Boo, Chuck, Sean, etal) at the little parking lot before the Memorial...or go around the corner to the left & park in front of the Memorial & look for them.
