I've thought about it and I will see if I can get PDGA to not sanction it and give Birdshot credit on a future tournament. Its the least they can do with their website woes messing with us. We will lose the listing on the PDGA website and the registration list. I can put a registration list on the Birdshot website though. It will save us $50 plus $2 a player plus $10 for nonPDGA players.

Okay, so hopefully we can get this unsanctioned & make everybody happy. Larry, I don't know if experimenting would be the right word...we will eventually have to do a "first one" one of these days! We will need to talk with DGC before we decide on payout....if it has to remain sanctioned then there will be no cash for ams, just the usual plastic. If it's not sanctioned & Andi & Don won't get their feelings (or pocketbooks) hurt, then we can do cash payout for everyone. Keep watching the post & we'll hopefully have all of this figured out in the next few days.

If you're itching to play a singles tournament there, we will be having a "dress rehearsal" for States as our monthly tournament for March...which is isn't too far away.

Dress rehearsal? I thought States was elsewhere.

I also thought that a Finale was the big event and that though was stregthened with the choosing of Tom Bass as the site.

So big name big course but an even smaller event than usual?

Yes I am itching to play Bass as I haven't played an event there in almost 2 years. I just won't play random doubles there.

Sanctioning provides an insurance policy for the event, right? That would be the only reason to sanction. The doubles are not rated events that count in that all important rating system. LOL

Is that the same weekend as Randon's Farmdango thing?

Tiffany was telling me something about it being the same weekend as the only other event in Texas...something about a 100 shot tournament (is that what you're talking about?). Of course, we've had this on the calendar all year...unless we get a flood of people asking us to move to another weekend we'll probably keep it.

And Scooter, States will be at Tom Bass this next year....this year's event at Quail Valley turned out to be a one shot deal (the city bought the other two ball golf courses & are turning them into municipal courses!)....so the only course left out there is The Links. For lack of a better venue, HFDS really has no other choice than Bass. Maybe in 2010 the club will take Jack Brooks into consideration...once that second course is completed I think it would be a great place to hold States.

Maybe if both courses were like the 2nd but the Original course isn't like the Powell or Willy.
