I just had a quick question about people play the tee shot on hole 5? I think this is the toughest tee shot on the course and I was just wondering how other people tackled it?

ahh ok, simple enough! So can most people just go up and over that big tree (oak?) right in front? I pretty much suck so far and don't think I could make it, lol. I usu try to go underneath, but there's not much room. I think a roller could work pretty well, but I'm not very good at that yet either, lol.

Most people don't go over the big tree. They go to the right of it and then the disc naturally fades left (if you are a righty) and select an overstable disc. This kind of throw is called a hyzer.

I throw a forehand skipper off the path. Usually have to wait until the people clear out, of course

But then u still have to shoot toward the bayou and hit the gap between those 2 trees? I don't think I would attempt this with my sucky backhand, haaa.

nomad, yeah I think that's probably the best option for me! I was back the other day and I managed to keep it under the branches of the tree in front with FH, though I just missed 'ridin' the path, lol.

Thanks for the feedback!

i wasted several years of my early days throwing forehand because it was instant gratification. work on your backhand and youll thank me later. it took me about 6 months basically relearning how to throw but it has much more potential, forehand is a dead end throw.

im out there a few times a week in the evenings, im not a pro or anything but i can help with your backhand and youll be able to birdie 5 in no time

Yes, I'm coming to realize that forehand is a finicky shot at best. I am currently trying to convert to backhand, but it is slow going. What tips helped you when u were learning backhand?

practice driving with slower discs like putters and mids, focus on making them fly flat and straight. its hard to throw faster drivers at first

use a 4 finger grip for every shot

learn the x-step

turn your head away from the target during your reach-back
