2009 World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend at Jack Brooks Park, May 2nd and 3rd

This year is the lucky 13th year our club has hosted the event at Jack Brooks Park. Needless to say we're going to make the event memorable.

A few highlights include:
- Mini tourney for the covenant heavy weight disc golfer belt (Michael Ynfante currently holds the title)
- competitive play on at least 15 holes of the new course
- skills shot competition
- putting comp.
- longest drive off the hill comp.
- CTP's galore

Other possibilites: crawfish boil if it's not too late in the season. Night golf...

If any one has an idea to make the event cooler, let me know. We're open to anything as long as we have help executing it.

We look forward to showcasing our new course so plan to attend.

The organizer gives the individual TD's the opportunity to run events all weekend or just one day.

Anyone have heartburn running the event on Sunday instead of Saturday?

I'm out of town 2 weeks prior to and will just be getting back in town late Friday night.

Quick update then we can get back to the "real" tourney happening locally this weekend.

Saturday May 2nd: The Brooks crew will run a bring your partners doubles match on the new course.

Cost: $10 per team

Divisions: Pro, Advanced and Rec

Payout: Pro payout recieves cash. Adv. and Rec get merchandise. Payout 100% to 1/3 of field.

Time: Flex start 2pm to 4pm

2 teams per card strictly enforced

Sunday May 3rd: The Brooks crew will run the (13th year) annual Worlds Biggest Disc Golf Weekend event.

I'll post the flyer soon with all the details. Just plan to show up at 8am to have a day long good time that will include rounds played on both Brooks courses (at least for Pro and Adv.) (Intermediates and Rec's may play both rounds on the original course). We will have a limited amount of Worlds Biggest merchandise available for sale at the event so sign up early.

The courses are going great!

Signage on the new course is in the works. If you are currently playing on the new course beware! A grumpy old man screaming about no one helping him clear brush has been sighted jumping out from behind the brush on hole 4 giving players a hard time for not helping. Good luck...

I'm tired of reading crap about a course I will not have the opportunity to play.

The second course and original course at Brooks have names now (while not approved yet) but that shouldn't be a big hurdle. Come out Sunday May 3rd for the big unvailing.

Tournament format and details are jelling as I type. Will update the board soon. We'll have tons of plastic, t-shirts and towels; minis, kuzzies and decals for sale.

I hope a few Houston players plan on playing the 13th WBDG weekend event at Brooks. 2 well known pros from Louisiana are coming to tame the new course. Come see if they succeed.
