I went out to the HFDS mini Sunday morning & was pleasantly surprised that they decided to play the Willy instead of Powell....it was actually in great shape...nicely mowed & hardly wet at all despite the rain earlier in the week! If you've been avoiding this course because of high grass, then get on out there to play...the course is looking good!

A lot of new clearing to the left of hole 8 on the Wilmont. Gives more forgiveness and room to work (kind of ruins the greatness of the hole). Course was in very good shape though otherwise besides a few downed tee posts and some ruts in the ground.

Change to Powell course:

10's tee has been moved to the right about 50-75 feet. The hyzer is more open, but at least now it is clear where the tee area is. No more throwing from a ditch.

There will be an event at the Arts Pavilion this weekend. The area around the pavilion will be fenced off. The Parks Department has asked that we do not cross the fenced in area while the fence is up. It was requested in a meeting we had with them in January that we remove the baskets during the events so I will be doing that today. If you play Wilmont this weekend I will move #15 basket to the short position on #5. Play to that basket from 5 tee box. The normal basket on #5 will become #15. You can tee off from #15 tee box and play around the Wet Lands to #5’s regular basket. The #14 basket will be moved to the short/old position so you can play it from the regular tee box. For #16 instead of throwing off the hill I will put in a temporary tee box at the bottom of the hill. There will be signs stapled to the tee boxes explaining the changes. The fence should be removed Monday and I will move the baskets back on the hill. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

You are welcome. The baskets have been moved from the hill. The signs explaining the changes and the temporary tee for #16 should go up today. This would have happened yesterday had it not been for the rain. Wilmont is in pretty good condition right now. With the lack of rain the Parks have been able to keep up with the mowing.
