I have a suggestion for Birdshot. Since Birdshot has a reputation for having lots of OB at their tournaments, I think any tournament that the course has more than 50% holes OB (at least 10 of 18 or 11 of 21) that a $20 voucher be given out to the player with no OBs and if more than one player does it, then lowest score wins. I will sponsor this OB challenge. Adam Metz won the OB challenge for Windwood.

We will be talking to players on their card and the player themselves before making that judgement call. I've actually had players tell me that they quit because of a bad round in process. Watch what you tell a TD. I have noticed an increase in that strategy in 2010.
The PDGA does not have an official penalty yet for that unsportsman like conduct. I'm sure they will come up with something fair.
Birdshot TD's should tar and feather the player...

Players who quit a round or intentionally misplay during a round to avoid a poor/lower/bad rating are supposed to be noted in the TD report.

Default More Suggestions

Cut down on award ceremony time by only announcing the top three finishers in each division. For everyone else just post the results.

Someone mentioned in a PDGA thread about having a prize for each card winner in the final round. Not really sure where the prizes come from, but it keeps the competition more interesting for the bottom/lower cards.

this would be a great way to eliminate wasted time at the end of tournaments... because who really cares if you are splitting $2.50 with 5 other dudes for last cash?

I like announcing the top finishers, maybe 4th for the bigger divisions and post results. And give them a little award of some type. I never did figure out where Golden Triangle got those curved frames for pictures. Those would be good for 1 tournament a year. Originality in awards makes for a better display rather than the usual trophies and medallions. Waterloo gives out some cool looking ceramic with painted tops. Plaques if done right are pretty good too.

I was on the Birdshot website earlier and looked at the score tracker and saw a few things to think about.

If you are going to be posting low scores for courses please make sure to keep in consistent when it comes to teebox placement. One of the records for Macgregor was at an event where I whined about them moving a lot of the gold tees to an easier position.

Basically I was mad they made one of my favorite courses in the area easier when the shorts should have been enough to make the event favorable to all. Anyway this will make it easier to keep records without having 10 setups per course or even worse having a record listed when a lot of the tees weren't played.

I will also probably have to show up to the next event at Bass to try and beat the current Birdshot records. The Wilmont regular record during minis or above is a 47 with the Powell at a 45.

The Klein records are both wrong.

I shot a 49 from the longs and Dustin shot a 45 from the shorts in 2010

McDade is also a 41 in the current setup also from 2010 but the old ones should stay just listed as an older layout.

MacGregor longs get moved around some when bricks get lost.
Dustin did shoot a 44 in July
Somebody shot a 41 at McDade on the 21 holes at a Birdshot tournament? Who could that be?
I think I will give $20 cash to whoever breaks a previous course layout record at a Birdshot tournament. Probably have to come to the awards tournament in December to pick it up though.
