Glow Doubles Tonight!!!!
Many thanks to all the players whom have supported HFDS by playing the TC Jester league this year!!! Tonight is our final "hurrah!" of the 2009 weeknight leagues. Come one, come all. This is open to everyone!!! $5 per person will get you entered into our Glow Doubles round tonight at the Jester league. We'll be doing award night stuff at 6 pm. I'm guessing that since we have a small league, we should be ready to get going with the doubles jazz at around 6:30 pm. If we get more than 3 teams, we'll probably payout to the top two teams. I've got lights for the baskets and I've snagged 32 of the little mini-lights for the discs. Please come out and help us celebrate our farewell to weeknight disc golf for this season. We'll be back next year!!!

The TC Jester league will begin Thursday 5/6/2010 (next week)
The #7 basket has been moved and we'll experiment around with some tee placements until we find a "perfect" locale for them. We might've lost a bit of distance on the hole, but that doesn't mean the hole will become easier! I don't remember what the Ace Pot stands at, but I'll look it up before Thursday. I'm pretty sure that this one will be a 5-week league, so we'll only get to drop 1 week this run. (After that, we should be on the 6-week schedule with keeping the best 4 of the 6 weeks.) Hope you can spread the word around for me! I'll try to get a sign posted up there tomorrow!

This is the last night to register for the Jester league and still be able to get the full 4-weeks of play in.
Weather forecast is looking pretty good for tonight - hope to see you out there between 5:30 and 6:00.

Larry,
The league rules posted on the HFDS site are not clear with regard to scoring the for divisional placement. One section talks about "counting their best 4-6 weeks and dropping the remainder." But "best" is never clarified as to being raw score or placement within your division that week. Another section talks about "League play is calculated on a point system." But the subsequent section says: "Each players highest 4 scores will count toward league total." Throughout the description of the HFDS leagues the use of "score" and "scorecards" seems to be used consistently to mean the number of strokes/throws... except in that one clause quoted above which doesn't make sense to take a player's highest four scores. So I'm assuming that must mean four highest point weeks, correct? |

ERic,
That's probably my mistake if the verbiage is off...I have a bad tendency to use the terms somewhat interchangably which isn't accurate. The best four "points" out of six weeks. You want to retain the 4 highest point values which doesn't necessarily mean the four lowest scores. Points are what determines whether you win or lose in a color division. With all of that being said, Jack goes by the lowest scores when calculating ratings though. Larry

It's looking like it might be a bit soggy for tonight's league, but rest assured that if it isn't dropping lightning on us, we'll be out there playing.
I'm expecting to be there pretty close to 5:30 and I'm sure everyone will be itching to get started if it's raining. Let me know if you're planning on showing up late. Rick/Nicole: Are you playing tonight?

Larry,
Nicole hasn’t been attending TC Jester league because she injured her pinky toe a couple of weeks ago. A girl stepped on her foot during a soccer game and one of the cleats landed directly on Nicole’s toe. The toe is not broken, but it was bruised and swollen. The toe got worst when Nicole played in a soccer tournament on Memorial Day weekend. She was in a lot of pain, but her team needed her. She wanted to play in the Waco disc golf tournament this weekend, so we went to the Southwest Handicap Mini on Tuesday to test out her toe. Unfortunately, her toe hurt too much so she had to play barefoot (the shoe hurt her swollen toe). Therefore we are going to take another week or two off so her toe can finish healing. Rick |

Do league results ever got posted regularly (for anything except Moffitt for which I get Conrad's regular e-mails)?
What's the schedule for the rest of the season? Is there one week left? |
