Ace Race - Missouri City

I plan on holding an Ace Race at Community Park in MO City on August 16 at 9:00 am. I need to guage attendance so I can order the packages. I'm trying to be nice to everyone and make sure that you don't have to get the money to us ahead of time. This is not a Birdshot or club affiliated event. This is not to make money, it's just a good time to be had by all.

Packages will be $25 per person playing and the winner will recieve a great setup (bag and discs and such) from Discraft.

Each package contains:
Two prototype (never before seen) Discraft Ace Race Discs
One Full color Mini
One Discraft hat and one sticker
Retail value $55

This is always a fun event and I plan on making some of the holes pretty darn short (but challenging) so this really becomes a contest we can all enjoy. Please e-mail me at petre@petris.com if you will be signing up for this event on August 16th.

Without more input as to people willing to do this, it probably will just be cancelled. I have to make the order sometime next week, but am not willing to put up hundreds of my own dollars with little commitment from players. Hopefully the HFDS / Moffitt Ace Race will be setup soon.

I don't blame you, Matt....I was under the impression that you had procured the rights to have the one for this year in the Houston area. Usually when HFDS does it they don't even sign anybody up ahead of time...you just show up & pay. I guess it makes sense that they need a certain amount of money upfront....have you talked with anybody with HFDS to see if they were going to do it this year?

Cancelled. And by the way, there are no rights to hold an Ace Race as a matter of fact Discraft would be more than happy if we supported 50 of them in Houston (Tracy and I attended 3 last year alone.) I'm just about sick of squabbling anyways. I see why people go into hibernation. I'm not going to get into a tizzy like some folks seem to about tourneys they don't even attend, but I'll go play in an Ace Race at Port Arthur or Austin anyways.

Don't let it get to you matt. The timing is a little short for some that's all man. I understand yours and Tracy's frustration, just know there is way more support than you think. There are still a lot of people who don't know about this board yet. I've not seen even a fraction of yours and birdshot's supporters on here yet. Let's look into a later date maybe, or even a different venue. I know I've got my kid's bday party on what was your suggested date. If you still want to do one, I'll even help out with it gladly. You have my number, just give me a call, and maybe we can find a way to do it on a different date.

Damn i was going to come out in my brand new cast and try to sidearm ace all of them...if Randy can do it, I can do with one foot in a cast. I know tiff would like an ace race.

Geez, I don't know, 6 years maybe? I have averaged 60 participants during this time. I will post/email out all of the details soon.
