Default Challenger 7 Park

I was talking to some locals at Jack Brooks this weekend, and they are saying that Challenger 7 park would be a great place for a course. I haven't been there in years, but is seemed like a real open park with not many people there. Anyone thought about this? I don't live in the area, so I need feed back from those of you who do.

We talked with the powers that be, about eight years ago about this site.
They were receptive to a course, as long as you do not dig, cut or change the landscape what-so-ever. So no sleeves for baskets allowed, you know what that means.

Jump Frog, not really on my agenda.
Lots of High School R.O.T.C. programs do their orienteering out there, nice place just don't see a championship disc golf course.
Unless there could be a championship type course put in, I would be hesitant to jump on board. JMO

Challenger 7 park has a lot of room for a disc golf course, but if we can't alter the terrain a bit then it's just going to be another wide open field course.

Has anyone talked to the county about Elva Lobit park on 646? There's not a lot of trees there either, but they have a couple of nice water hazards that could be a lot of fun on a short course.

I haven't been to Lobit Park in a long time! We used to go there for Little League football when my daughter was a cheerleader...I'm not sure what the rest of the park is like. Chuck & I have a "tree course" at Walter Hall Park in League City on Highway 3....but he said he had already asked about a real course & the city said NOPE!

If you can't alter the terrain, you can't put in baskets.

Billy - The city don't own Walter Hall, the county does.

I'm not surprised about the county's response on Walter Hall Park. That park is frequently used for company picnics and the occasional church baptism in Clear Creek at the park (can't they find cleaner water?). Most of the times that I've been there the park has a good number of people all over it. I think a disc golf course there would cause friction with the groups that usually use the park.
