Special meeting Tuesday April 7th!!!

Hey gang!

We are slated to have a special guest visitor at the April club meeting from Houston Parks and Recreation Department (HPARD).

I want to say that Louis Moore as our "official liaison" has been tremendous. This is the first time since I've been affiliated with HFDS that I've seen HPARD make an effort to contact us and to start communicating with us.

It would be really fantastic if we can put on a good showing of solidarity as a club in our first meeting with HPARD.

Let's welcome them!!! We need to cultivate a stronger and better bond with HPARD to explore ways we can mutually help one another.

Bumping this up to current topic!

I think that all members of our club want to see a better relationship with the parks department. With a better relationship comes such things as new courses, course expansions, and maybe even some concrete tee boxes!

What about more timely information such as the HUGE construction project going in down at Mozola and the parking lot expansion project slated for TC Jester in September?

The parks department is making an effort to really open up some good dialog with us and I think it only strengthens their view of the club to see a club meeting with tons of people there!

Please, if you can make arrangements, this would be one of those times that we really need folks to turn out for a monthly meeting as just a show of numbers if nothing else. Don't worry if you don't really have anything to contribute, or you aren't even a club member yet...just showing up is making a good contribution to our efforts to keep on promoting the sport of disc golf in Houston!

So we saw this post on Tuesday (day of meeting ) but already had a previous committment (deliver Sharon and LeRoy Jenkins to IAH and the SV Mini).

How did it go? Who was in attendance? What was discussed?

Let's see.......................meeting on Tuesday the 7th. We know you have been on the board since then complaining about OM, so it can't be that you haven't been on the board.

So, why couldn't you respond here? God know we understand we aren't going to get an email telling the members who couldn't be there, what happened.

So, what did happen with the Parks Dept.??????

Tuesday April 7th was my birthday Susan and Melissa didn't think about the fact that it was also monthly club meeting night and we had dinner reservations at 7:30.

So in a nutshell, I wasn't there and can't really speak to what happened there although I did trouble myself to call a couple of folks and find out about it.

But hey! Thanks for the presumption of innocence there in your traditional fashion.

Larry, you posted on Monday without any mention that you wouldn't be attending, therefore my assumption was reasonable. Given you are the one posting about the meeting, we just figured you would follow through with the results, whether or not you actually attended.

If we are really trying to demonstrate our "honey" as a club, then how things go with the Parks Dept is important, and does relate to DG ALL OVER OUR COMMUNITY.
