Birdshot & Golden Triangle Present The Thomas Bertrand Memorial @ Klein Park

Once again the Golden Triangle Disc Golf Club & Birdshot are joining together to bring you another collaborative tournament....The Thomas Bertrand Memorial at Klein Park in Beaumont on Saturday, July 11, 2009. This will be our second tournament with GTDGC (we did Pleasure Island with them a few months ago) and these guys always put on a good show...even without us there to help them! Klein Park is a great course...fairly long & many challenging holes....both open & in the woods! If you've never played there it's worth the drive...and pre-registration is already available online on the PDGA tour schedule (or see www.houstonbirdshot.com for a downloadable registration form & how to mail it in to me). I'm sure this one will see some action from the Beaumont/Port Arthur communities, so pre-registration is encouraged!

We're looking forward to this event! We should have cash CTP's as usual and maybe a basket in the raffle. We're looking to spice this event up so keep this one in mind.

well, the shorts are short comparable to mcgregor or moffit, but the longs are definately longer than macgregor from the longs

Tonights league posted pretty good scores from the short tee's. -10, -9, -8, -7 and a few more under par out of about 12 players.

The long tee's usually bring scores from about 1 up to 10 up.

Online registration is available at the PDGA tour schedule link. Registration list is up now. We have 1 player, Dustin Galmor!
Teebox format: Longs in the morning, shorts in the afternoon. Hit those longs while you are fresh, have a speedy afternoon round with a better feeling about your scores (hopefully)

How long does it take to drive there from Houston?

depends on where in Houston, but I used to drive from downtown houston to beaumont in an hour and fifteen minutes. Its 80 miles from houston to beaumont
