We may throw Brooks into the mix in the Clear Lake league in the summer months, but not the Spring season.

Of course. I believe we're almost back up to $100 after Andy and Adam hit back to back aces last year at Miramar.

Although I'm sure Griff would like it better if we didn't cap the league ace at $100! You know why we do that, right? Let's say the pot's at $400 plus like at MacGregor....some guy walks up who's never been there before & wants to join league ('cause he's heard there's this big ace pot)...pays his entry fee & ace pot dollar or two....hits it...and you never see him again! He hasn't been there contributing every week like everybody else...he just takes the money & runs! I've actually seen this happen! The cool thing about the $100 cap at our league is that it can still build up...and that's how Adam hit one for $100 & Andy hit another one the following week & there was already another $100. Most ace pots are sitting back at however many dollars show up the next week after one is hit....seven players, seven dollars....whoo-hoo!

Chris made it official yesterday....we'll start up the first six weeks of Miramar league tomorrow! Or should we call it Seabrook league? Be there around 5:00 to find out all the details! Prices same as usual...$20 for six weeks...drops will be discussed when you show up to register! I actually have to miss tomorrow because my granddaughter has one line in a school play that I have to be there to see so I can continue to be married...

We had ten folks show up to play last night and fantastic disc golfing weather. As this is a new league we're going to play two weeks before settling on divisions for everyone. Congrats to Matt Beard who shot a 49 out there last night!

Birdshot's Clear Lake Disc Golf League is introducing 'Make-ups' to our format this year. Any player who misses a scheduled Thursday night can make up the game as long as the follow the following rules:
  1. Notify myself or Billy Gilbert that you are going to make-up a missed night.
  2. Play with another league player (can be a player who didn't miss the league night).
  3. Play during the same time of the day as league, i.e. no starting before 4:30pm.
  4. Play the course you missed (e.g. can't make up a Miramar game on TLV's course).
  5. Complete the make-up game before the following League night.
  6. Make-up games cannot be dropped from your league score. If you play a make-up game then it WILL be included in your final league score.
  7. No player can make up more than two missed league nights per season.
  8. If it rains on league night and we play; make-ups will not be offered.

So if the wind is blowing 20+mph on Thursday you just decide not to play that night and you can play any other less windy day within the next six days? And you get to do that twice per season?

When is the wind not blowing 20+ mph at Miramar?

Also, this was discussed last night with everyone and no one had an issue with it. We're a pretty laid back bunch out there. We even allow you to flip your disc instead of using a mini!

The make-up wasn't designed for people to show up, check out the conditions & decide to play later....it was because me & Ben Honey weren't able to make the first day due to family stuff...David Decker too, but he didn't show up Friday either. I won't be able to make it this Thursday either because my daughter's graduating from UTMB...and then we're at the beach all weekend, although I'm going into Houston Saturday night to see Umphrey's McGee & am hoping to meet somone at the course around the same time of day as regular league (as stipulated in the rules) & make that game up. I think it also makes it fair that you HAVE to keep that game's score...can't be a drop! I didn't do so well at Miramar Friday but I have to keep that score. I don't think it's an advantage...but I appreciate the fact that I don't have to miss that week.
