Default The End Of The Worlds Grand Opening at Dunbar Park

It's the end of the worlds as we know it...and we feel fine! Yes, that's right....Saturday August 1st at Dunbar Park in Lake Jackson, Birdshot & the City of Lake Jackson are excited to present the official Grand Opening of the new 18 hole course! This is the final weekend of Worlds in Kansas City (hence the title!), so for those of you not lucky enough to be going to that HUGE event, please come & join us for two friendly cheap rounds of 18 at Dunbar Park. We are NOT sanctioning this one to keep costs down for the locals in Lake Jackson, which I assume this will be the first tourney for many of them. We will still do plastic for payout though (courtesy of DG Consultants!) by request of the players of Lake Jackson...all they have access to is what's on the rack at Academy, so they would LOVE to see some different kinds of discs! Details & downloadable registration forms are available at www.houstonbirdshot.com. I'm pretty sure we're going to have this one available for online registration also (even though it will NOT be sanctioned). This is a fairly easy course (good for beginners) in a very nice park, so come on out for the Grand Opening!

No online registration for this tournament since it is not sanctioned and we use PDGA online registration. You can preregister though by downloading the registration form from our website and mailing it or turning it in in person to a Birdshot staff member.

For those of you not going to Worlds, don't forget to come out & join us for two rounds of easy golf...it'll make you feel better than you are! But really....this is a nice course in a nice park & it's their official Grand Opening, so come out & help Lake Jackson celebrate disc golf in their town!

Since there isn't any online registration for this one, can I assume that you will be taking "day-of" sign-ups for this?

I'm not going to worlds this year, so I'd be interested in travelling down south to catch this one and to check out this new course.

ERic: Is there a DGCR entry up for this new course yet?

We will be taking walk-ups (we do that now!)...and since it's not sanctioned & we don't know how many locals are wanting to participate we won't be charging any extra day-of fees or anything like (no PDGA fees either!). This course should play VERY quickly, though....so much so that even 6-cards could probably finish in under two hours! You can pre-register if you'd like by downloading our form at www.houstonbirdshot.com and mailing me your moolah! Again, this is more for fun & to highlight the first course for the Lake Jackson area....it should be a good time!

Thanks ERic!

I should've known better than to think that there might NOT be an entry up there for it!

Don't forget, other-worldly disc golf creatures....Grand Opening tourney at Dunbar Park in Lake Jackson this Saturday! Non-sanctioned (but with plastic payout for AMs) two rounds of 18 EZ holes! It'll make you feel like a Worlds player, even if you're not! Come on down!!
