Default Birdshot Mini Saturday August 15, 2009

I usually try to get these out there quicker, but we've been busy! This Saturday we will be hosting another mini for this year's series at First Colony....we're not sure about the format yet because we're trying to determine how many "locals" might show up (the parks people have put info out there on their website). ERic Jubin (and maybe Neal Dambra also) have had alternates out there for a while to make it a full eighteen holes, but we believe most of the local casual players don't even know they exist! If we have a lot of those people show up, we'll probably just play the regular ten holes twice. We will probably also allow those players to play casually...i.e., no OB for them except for the water & the street. The rest of us will play the posted OB rules (sidewalk & beyond, the island hole, etc.). If we get the usual regular crowd of Birdshooters then we will most likely play the 18 hole configuration. Either way, this is a challenging course that will make you wish you brought a floater if you don't! Registration will be from 7:30 to 8:30.....hope to see you there!!!

For the players that play OB sidewalk and beyond and the island green:
If you don't get any OB strokes the whole tournament, the lowest score will get $30 DG Consultants voucher, 2nd lowest score - $20 voucher, 3rd lowest score - $10 voucher. These are my personal vouchers and I am betting against the better players being able to go OB free. I think I will lose this bet if not for that island green. Thats the toughie.

Hey Chuck,

Go ahead and make that voucher out to me. I am going to walk away with that. I am also brining my son or sons depending of the other one wakes up. Beau and Jhon. I just thought I would let you know to get that ready. See you guys tomorrow.

Post like that make me question how many times Sam has actually played the FCAC course... I know he's never played the alternates at the Handicap mini.

Eric,

I actually have never played the course period. I am just creating a little stir and boosting myself up so I can play good. I like to play when there are challanges in place. It sounds like a good one to make. I think I can do it though. If there is not a large turn out than my score wont matter much. I just have to focus on staying within the lines.

A lot will depend on the wind in the morning....and the island hole is fairly difficult to hit as well (that's the one that's going to be the deciding factor for a few people!). Good luck tomorrow....I'd like to see you do it! See everyone in the morning!

Great tournament guys. Really nice park facilities with well maintained lawns, lots of shade and showers! I just wish it was a bit roomier. I'll post the CTP video up tomorrow.

Nice shooting by Sam out there today... OB free to take Chuck's voucher, well done! I think the #7 island hole got just about everyone else.

(BTW I looked it up and Neal has the 18-hole course record with a 47 (June 2, 2009) as far as the play in the Tuesday Mini is concerned.)

That mini was a fun one. I had both my boys in there and they had a good time. My oldest will be around for a little while and will be playing a little more.
I am glad I won because I was able to back my mouth up. Thanks for joining in all the fun guys. I just wanted to add a little excitement to the mini. There was a good turn out to. Thanks Chuck for the voucher.

I would like to thank the three main people who helped me win though. I would like to thank ...Me, Myself, and I. With out them it would not be possible for taking the voucher, 1st place in advanced and the CTP and looking like a prophet predicting the outcome. I am a beast. Good luck to all who play against me. lol Just kidding. Thanks again.
