Here's this year's information regarding the now famous Eberley Ranch Open from Mr. Ed.
Calling all Discgolf Lads and Lassies: It is time once again for the Eberly Ranch Open disc golf tournament. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 19, 2009. For those of you who are not familiar, the tourney it is held on a 1500 acre working cattle/exotic game ranch at Chappel Hill about 50 minutes northwest of Hwy290 and FM 1960. The course is set up around a 10 acre lake on a manicured "cowboy or pasture" golf course. There is plenty of elevation and 6 of the holes involve water. Hole #7 is a real island green, surrounded by water (when the lake is full) that we play tin cup. If you miss the island, you re-tee until you make it.. If you are planning to attend, there are a few things you need to know: 1) As this is a non-sanctioned tournament, I am keeping the entry fee low at $25.00 plus a $5.00 ranch fee. If the sponsorship works out, I am planning on providing a full BBQ dinner at the break. As in past years, my goal is to payout 100% of the entry fees (top 1/3 in pro divisions and top 1/2 in am divisions). 2) Your family or a guest are welcome however everyone entering the ranch property will be assessed the ranch fee and will be covered for lunch. 3) A really nice swimming pool will be available for use but children 12 and under must be supervised at all times and you will need to bring your own towels. Absolutely no glass allowed inside the fenced pool area. 4) Alcohol is allowed but if you overdo it and cause a problem, you will be put in "time out" and asked to leave when you are able to drive. 5) I have a few sponsorships committed at this point but I would like to request a few more to help defray the cost of the meal, etc. Sponsorships less than $100.00 will get you a recognition sign on one of the tee signs. You can mail a check made out to Ed Morgan, 13414 Tara Oak Dr, Houston, Tx, 77065. 6) Camping and a couple of houses are available for rent if you would like to come up Friday night or stay through till Sunday. To make reservations you will need to contact Julie Aune at Park Environmental at 713 937 7602 to schedule. 7) Dogs are allowed but as this is a working ranch, they must be kept on a leash and under control at all times. We will be taking sign-ups between 7:30 and 8:30 the morning of the event. There will be no official pre-registration but I will be asking you to RSVP by Wednesday,September 16th so I can get a good idea of how much food to prepare. Also, In case we fill, I will be keeping track of the date/time of your RSVP and anyone after the 72nd response will go on a wait-list. At this point, I am planning to limit the field to 72 but if I get an overwhelming response, I might open it up to 90. The sooner you RSVP the more likely you are to get in. We had 65 last year and it is likely to fill. E-mail your RSVP to hfds081@yahoo.com. Be sure to include the number of guests you will be bringing. One more thing. As my basket sponsor will be unable to provide baskets this year (I still love ya, Steve) I will need to pull together 18 portables to set out on Saturday morning. If you have a basket you can bring, pm me at the above address. If you are not going to be able to come and will trust me with your basket, I will make arrangements to pick it up at your convenience. Watch the HFDS Message Board for updates and/or changes www.hfds.org. For directions to the ranch or to check out the amenities go to www.eberlyranch.com. Any questions or comments can be made to the above address. Thanks, Ed Morgan Last edited by ERicJ; 07-23-2009 at 04:53 PM. Reason: fill in truncated message |

Here's the latest from Ed Morgan regarding ERO-5 (?) <-- does anyone know?
It would be incredible if this thing fills! I'll try to grab the current reg. list and get it posted too. OK all you discaholics, got 60 RSVP's on the list as of tonight. If your teetering on the brink, you might not want to wait too long, Looks like we are going to fill. If you know of anyone that might not be on this e-mail list, please forward this to them. I will need you to re-confirm your RSVP by Next Wednesday night. I need you to send me an e-mail with the following info in the "subject line": Name (first and last) Division (division you intend to play) PDGA # (if you have one) HFDS # (if you have one) # of guests (do not include yourself) ********* (finish with a short row of asterisks if you want me to read the body of the e-mail otherwise I will not open it. EXAMPLE: Ed Morgan / Pro GM / 7359 / 081 / Guests 3 I will be contacting basket providers individually to confirm that you will be bringing a basket or baskets. I'll see some of you guys at Spring Valley in the morning. Mr Ed |

The weather forecast is looking pretty darn good for this weekend.
Mid 80's and light breeze. This should be a blast!!! I'm looking forward to it. I think I read that there are still 6 slots left before this fills. Contact Ed if you're still interested in playing this weekend. |

in his last email, he said he'd let us know Friday if still needed. At least that is what he told me and my basket.
So, you going to be at Oktoberfest Richard? |
