A tournament on a Sunday afternoon. I just might beable to make that one. From what you all described, sounds like all I would need to bring is a putter. I might just go check this course out next weekend.

Hey Everyone,
My name is Ryan Beasley and I am the person responsible for the Memorial Disc Golf Course. I know, I know, I'm a terrible person and what was I thinking in designing a course with crossing fairways and potentially dangerous play. OK, I confess. HOWEVER! I have heard the cries of despair and injustice and you may be happy to know that I HAVE LISTENED TO THE PEOPLE!We don't want any special treatment just because this is a "church" course. We have had a LOT of criticism about our little course, and rightly so. I have appreciated everyones reviews and thoughts, and because of those, we got to work. As many of you read earlier on in this thread, we have been involved in a course overhaul. We've been working around the clock with Andi Young (DG Consultants), HFDS, and Birdshot to help MDGC reach it's full potential. Well I am proud to say that we are just about finished with the plastic surgery and she'll be good to go just in time for our Tournament on the 25th. Here are some of the updates and new additions (as of 10.23.09): We are now a 6 hole course with 6 alternate Tees No more crossing fairways!!! ![]() No more double and triple use Tees Basket numbers installed Tees clearly marked and painted Next Tee stones installed Baskets have been dug in Practice putting green Brand new course map with distances We are having a Grand Opening Tournament Sunday, October the 25th. $25 Tourney fee (includes): fee, lunch, Tourney T-shirt, Whataburger goodie bag, and shot at prizes. 30 player max Tournament, so first come- first play. 3 divisions: Beginner, Intermediate, Experienced. Schedule: 12:15-12:50 Lunch & Registration, 12:50-1:00 Beginners Clinic, 1:00-1:15 Players Info Meeting and card assignment, 1:15-2:30 First round with 12 holes, 2:30-3:00 Divisional CTPs, 3:00-3:45 Second round with 6 holes, 3:45-4:00 Final scoring, 4:00 Divisional Prizes A few DG vendors will be there as well, so you can stock up on the latest. So please, come play in the Tournament, come and watch, or just come by some time and experience the new and improved "Memorial Disc Golf Course". Chances are I'll probably be in my office which is right there by the course, so come find me- I'd love to talk with you or even go throw a round'er two. Regards, Ryan Beasley Memorial Drive Baptist Church & Memorial Disc Golf Course |

Glad to hear details about the tournement. I went to the website and it said it was too late to register. So as I read it now all registration will be done at the tournament, first-come first-serve, right?

Our online registration closed way too early (not really sure why...sorry), but YES, registration is available at the Tourney for the first 30 players.
Thanks. |

Sounds like the tourney here at the church will be fun....Chuck will be there to represent Birdshot and I'll be at TLV with Chris. Normally I would be there to play a new course, but I'm kind've waiting for payday!

Ryan Beasley the Music Minister and Memorial Drive Baptist Church put on a fantastic mini tournament. Lots of sponsors, vendor booths set up, dogs and burgers for lunch before the tournament, tournament Tshirt, divisional CTPs, and the course itself was fun to play with a little challenge on the longs. Now we have two 6 basket courses in town. 3 times around does just fine. It will be on the mini tournament schedule next year.
