the community is called BridgeLand, on the northwest side of town off Frye road, next door to Black Horse golf course. There is a security guard out there checking to make sure you're a resident, I think he checks for a hang tag in your car or something....you could be sneaky and get dropped off and walk onto the course I guess, but there's no where to park a car near the course without a hang tag and not be noticed really...good luck

what parts of town? I would not mind showing you springvalley, or the links at quail valley. Both better alternatives than stirring up trouble where we are not wanted. I took some dudes from up north to springvalley last year and they were quite impressed. let me know what you think.

one year ago was the last post on this thread about me visiting Houston.
1 year later I'll be back in town again and needed some local knowledge. I plan to play spring valley on Aug 2nd (comando mini)! is it held that Sunday? Did I hear good news on the Birdland course in Cypress? I would like to know what league I should go to on Mon- Wed night? are my option's Mozzola (mon) ang Mc Gregor(wed)? any recomendations on which one (i'll be based in Cypress) i should attend any times and cost for events is appreciated. If I am in Pasadena what course should I play? Jack Brooks! i've played Tom Bass before Thanks for the info and hope to see some golfers on the courses during my time in Houston. |

Bridgeland (aka Black Horse...aka Oak Meadows) is still shut down for public play. Only residents are getting in there on weekends. It sounds like non-residents are getting run out of there on week nights now too.
Take my advice and go to Spring Valley where they actually LIKE disc golfers! The Bridgeland situation is too crappy to mess with. |

Chris -
You got it right for your league options. Mozola downtown on Monday nights and MacGregor on Wednesday nights. There is a mini running on the southwest side of town on Tuesday nights too, but it's a handicap setup and I don't know what happens on your first visit there. ERic can probably explain how it works. |

Thanks Larry. Will do on Cypress course.
Spring Valley is a real Jem. I'm also going to Austin! is the counrty club (forgot name) a good place to play? Is mazolla right downtown and plays by the creek and freeway? if so I played a mini their last year. |

Yeah...Mozola is the course downtown along the bayou. Twin Parks is just West of Austin in a town called Dripping Springs. Yeah - it's worth going to although a little challenging to find your way around it the first time if you're playing alone. Austin has all kinds of great courses though...if you haven't played Pease Park, then I'd highly encourage you to go play Pease Park first. Also, the Circle C course is another really good and tough course in Austin. I'd go play both of those before Twin Parks - just my opinion though.

The redesign at Circle C makes it the first stop imo, if you come in on the southside, you could do that and then come into town for Pease later in the day. But given what's been going on around Austin, I would pick Circle C, Manor, Pease and then Wilco up in Round Rock area.

Jack Brooks has two courses. Great play on both
Kingwood is still closed, and I would not advise walking the mile it takes to get to the course. That course has many hazards, and its dangerous to go out there when the road is closed. Should be open soon, we hope.

I have birdied 3, 4,5, 7,8, 12, 14, and 18 out there several times.
