I've posted a map of the full 18 hole course that we will be playing on the Birdshot website. Please note that this map is not the final layout for the course; it is a modification on the layout that Billy, Chuck and I made for the mini on Saturday.

We hope to see everyone out in Pasadena on Saturday morning.

Holes 5, 8, and 18 still look like they could run into trouble with the track. 18 looks like it plays using a favorite fishing spot as a fairway.

14-15 also look really close to the fences that border the park with the road not far on the left.

Yup. The mini will be a great time to get feedback on the course design. Burke-Crenshaw is still being worked on so there may be still changes to come.

At least the fences aren't on the left-side of the basket...but still those holes will see lots of OB shots which isn't a good thing with one side being houses and the other being a well used road.

5 is probably a good hole but there are LOTS of walkers out there making a group of 4 golfers have to stop 1-2 times to tee off....and 6's tee isn't far from the fairway.

6-7's tees could be moved farther from the track so players don't impede as much by putting bags on the track or anything....just keep them like 20-30ft from the track.

10's tee should be moved to the other side of the trail and maybe back a little along the edge of the water.

Anyway like I said it looks like A LOT more fun then the last version but fun for me can mean danger for others and I can really see problems considering most casual players can't place a 300ft shot on the money and might find the trail/road/fence.

Make #2 #1, 17 becomes 16, move 18 back south of the road it becomes 17 and turn #1 backwards to become 18. 18 as it is will be a problem with the fisherman as scoot_er says. Just a thought. #5 crossing the path is also a problem as walking use of the park has always been extreme. Just put in a little more thought and all should be cool. If you think TLV residents can be a pain in the butt, let Pasadena residents get a hold of ya, experience of 25 years in public works. Though the Mayor can be cool to work with, just keep all city liability out of the equation, they have really poor lawyers.

Thanks for the great input, Hall & Son! I know you guys know this course better than probably anybody (since you used to live over there, right?). And yeah, there are definitely kinks that need to be worked out. One of the original approved new holes (#13) was cool to look at, but went straight through where people feed the ducks (including two benches in the fairway!)....I can't believe that got approved by a parks department guy, but it shouldn't be used! I almost got into a fight with a mom for asking her daughter (I did say please!) not to pick up my drive...then she & her husband started to almost get into a fight because we were trying to play the hole (he was mad because the kids wouldn't listen to him). And yes, 18 does play in what appears to be a favorite fishing spot. Again...what we will play Saturday is by no means the final layout. Thanks again Lou & Matt for your input!

I know nothing about this park or course, never been there. but consider the lessons from TLV.. and take your time, if something doesnt feel right or intrudes on fishing spots or what-not. It's not worth the grief, avoid the issue rather than waiting to see how big an issue it could be..

And for Gods sakes..please make sure there are big enough bushes to privately pee in.....just kidding

There actually is a bathroom back by the new hole #10! And you're right, Scott....Tyler needs to take his time & take all of these issues into consideration before putting in anything permanent. TLV also approved the original course...it was after it went in & people started playing there when the kaka hit the fan! Hopefully that won't happen here....but it's great that the city is at least working to get the course back in!
