Default Birdshot Mini at Terramount

I sure hope we don't have a problem with Woodlands Rec for the Birdshot Mini at Terramount. Surely not.

When is this planned? This is the first I've heard of this.

Not until December 6....I doubt if we need to even talk to Woodlands people about a mini. They are not sanctioned & usually only a handful of people show up. The schedule of our minis & all other kinds of info available at houstonbirdshot.com.....

Chuck,
Sanctioned or no, this is a C.Y.A. issue. Better to cover your bases and get permission than to not, get caught, and create a bad rapport that will inevitably make it more difficult to make future projects possible. Perhaps approach it from the aspect of "Hey we run tournaments throughout the Houston area, we're interested in possibly running a tournament @ Bear Branch next year. Let us show you what we do by allowing us to put on a mini event at Terramont Park. Here's the date we had in mind."
I hate to say it, but The Woodlands Parks and Rec is all about what YOU bring to the table. It may not be right or cool, but its how they roll. Again, if you would like, I would gladly go and establish such contact. It has been my experience with these people that they listen to residents more than non residents. Sad but True. What ever happened to the days where towns WANTED their parks used by EVERYBODY? (Bitter, party of one)

Mr. B is on the money. We didn't even mess with the Woodlands, our sponsoship and added cash went to the purse not the park funds of a department that really doesn't care about the sport. Not a fan of their methods so we just held our tourneys and minis elsewhere. Planning a mini at any facility with out first contacting and getting permission from the powers that be is looking for trouble, LEARNED FROM EXPERIENCE Find someone that works with you not someone you work for. Tough to find these days but if you go about it the right way it can be done. Mr. B is offering to help any way he can, TAKE HIM UP ON HIS OFFER, all they can do is say no or make you a deal you can't refuse or one that you can, then just move on in another direction. Turning down help is like turning down food you've never ate, you don't know how good it can be until you try it. Be thankful someone is offering to help.

Thumbs up Re: Birdshot Mini at Terramount

Hello Mr. Blue,

Thank you for your offer to be Birdshot's liason with Woodlands Park & Rec. We need a contact that lives close by. I have not heard back from Willie yet. I mentioned the Terramount mini to him and did not get any feedback.

Chuck,
Give me the guys contact info and let me take a stab at it. The worst that will happen is he won't like me. Oh well, just as long as he spells my name right on the bathroom wall. LOL! No, I look forward to the challenge.

Also, let me know what has been brought to the table thus far informationwise. I don't want to contradict or compete with what has been mentioned.
