Exclamation Re: Handy tips and features for the message board.

We should've learned from the BridgeLand experience to keep quiet about anything on a public forum. That's what the PM is for. Use that to organize a SOCIAL gathering and keep it going. I wouldn't stop anything, just keep it on the down-low, YO!

ERic - what is "on hiatus" mean?

Larry, you can see it because you have Mod/Admin powers. Others cannot.

I'm pretty sure that we'll get the thread back in operation shortly.

If individual posts need to be moderated, then moderate them but we don't shutdown a thread topic on a public course just because John Q Public can read it and use it against us.

I've asked ERic to open it back up.

Chris - You've got to make a strong case about it if you want it closed.

Sorry for the confusion everyone!

The TLV Ad Hoc Committee requested last night that any outside "advertisement" of the course should stop for the time being. Please see the thread I put up this morning called POLITICS AS USUAL on the WASSUP category for my perspective on last night's meeting.

I would guess that if the "ad-hoc" committee wants our discussion of this course taken down, then they'll need to request it. I haven't had any such requests.

It's sounding like a big mess down there and I'm real sorry to see it. But shutting down discussion about the course and its status isn't the solution, nor should it cause any additional troubles. The last time I checked, we were still allowed to express dissenting opinions - especially as it related to public property and public governance. So we sit in opposition to the stance of some neighbors there, so what? We are free to organize our own stance for our own interests, right?

Larry, I agree with you...and it was discussed last night that if a public forum already exists there's probably not anything that can be done about it. Steve & Chris (who are officially on the committee) felt that maybe at this point it will hurt their chances of a compromised solution if some of us are bashing the residents. Whether said residents deserve to be bashed or not is beside the point...one of them in particular had printed out a couple of posts that they thought bordered on slander. It was obviously pissing them off...so we thought maybe it would be a good idea to stop the thread for now. At the same time....this is a free country & if we want to call an ass an ass, then we have every right to do so! I would love to see this course be what it was intended to be....but I have my doubts...even if TLV was never mentioned on this board again!
