I don't think that Vinnie and crew have the organizational staff to make this happen, just look at the two a tiers that have been run by them so far. Not anything to write home about. I hope they get their act together for the big dance.

And if not for Andi they would not have had a program/flyer as THOSE GUYS didn't make that happen.

I wish them all luck and so happy that I am old and will get to play BOTH Texas events next year!

Are you referring to TWC and USWDGC next year? As far as that goes, I think Vinnie is one of the few people in the world prepared to run a Women's tourney with anything more than 30+ Women. Who else has run a women's only tourney with 50+ women for multiple years... I am not disagreeing that he could use some work on certain aspects of the tourney, but they are fairly well run and seem to attract a large amount of women.

So you disapprove of Vinnie running a Major although he has already run 2 A-tiers and has 3 great courses at his disposal yet feel that it is ok to host one at a course that has only seen C-tiers?????

I just don't get it.........oh wait yes I do......H-town is Masters heaven which you can see by looking at those C-tiers.

I know that the local masters are looking forward to playing but I personally feel it is a big mistake (more by the PDGA than anyone) and a bid should have never been entered even if Neal was upset about not being able to get worlds.

Quality, or reality of a true championship course without really stupid holes. Maybe he cares about Majors and the courses they are held on, you don't have to be a Master to have an opinion. Am I right Eric?

About 178 players on a course without PDGA approved baskets, what gives?

It just goes to show how HOT it has been here in H-town. Passions are running fast and hard on this issue, guess there's nothing else to occupy one's mind.

Too bad we can't manage to channel all this energy into something...........positive. LOL

I hate to burst people's bubble here, but the ship has already sailed! The tournament location has already been set! So this armchair quarterbacking is kind of pointless!
My recommendation is that this kind of thing needs to be viewed as, and acted upon as an opportunity! BIG tournament, IN H-Town vicinity, with COOL people! If handled correctly, could this NOT be an opportunity to SHOWCASE the potential so that Houston is granted other opportunities.... LIKE A WORLD's?
Basket issues..... EASILY FIXABLE!
Course conditions...... EASILY FIXABLE!
Staffing...... there are enough people who CANNOT play, that THIS should be EASILY FIXABLE!
Parking....... EASILY FIXABLE!

I'm all for opinions people, but when a decision is made, the debate is over and it is time to put the hustle behind the muscle. There is a lot of time between now and then, and if Steve gets some help, there is no doubt in my mind that this CAN and WILL be an excellent tournament that can showcase the possibilities.

Matt, I hear what you are saying, and yeah, there are better courses in HOUSTON that could host this.... BUT THEY DIDN"T! So perhaps somebody of your influence and inner circle could assist in making this tournament EXCELLENT, and therefore bring more big tournaments here TO Houston.

I realize this course is not the BEST that Houston has to offer. But give the people credit here. They stepped up, they are committing to a lot of work, and my hat's off to them and anybody else who will be helping out. At this point, with the decision made, either get on board or don't be standing on the tracks when the train comes through.

So Steve is going to buy new baskets that are approved? Not sure you can get staff that far out of Houston. I will be one year closer in a few days.

No one ever answered the question about baskets. These were used at OV TSDGC three years ago. I don't recall any BAD COMMENTS about them at that time, and didn't that require approval from PDGA as it was an A-tier?

I recall us hauling in baskets for Worlds, so as Matt stated, let's get positive or shut the ole' pie hole guys.

I'm sure those had to be approved for States as well....if we're wrong about that, then HFDS definitely has approved baskets that could be moved out there....I don't see that being any sort of problem. And as far as staffing is concerned, between HFDS & Birdshot & a slew of other players that ARE excited about this, I don't see that being a problem either. Simmer down, fellers!
