Quote:
Independence Park doesn't have any DG facilities whatever. It looks like it is mostly used for basketball and soccer. It is being used for weekly DDC play on Wednesday nights from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. There aren't any club funds being requested for, or expended on the weekly DDC stuff, I think the minutes probably should reflect that a few of the club members were "announcing the start of our weekly DDC matches at Independence Park." It doesn't cost anything to play. The fields are level, grassy, and lighted. Last week we were graced by strong winds from one end of the DDC courts, so it made it very challenging to get discs into the opponents court from one end. During the Standard Time months, there is a group of folks that switch from playing disc golf on week days, to playing DDC in the same, Weds night time slot. Unfortunately, a lighted field couldn't be found that we could reserver on a weekly basis...this year, one of the guys stumbled onto the Independence Park listing from the county parks dept. Come on out and give it a try some time Miller, it's a fast-paced frisbee game. Larry

Moffitt Tee Boxes Concrete proposal and tee box relocation must go through the process of Super neighborhood approval, civic organization approval, City Council District Member Approval and then approval by Director of Parks and Rec. An internal review is going on with the City Parks and Rec. because Parks and Rec. is installing a walking trail and any re redesign must comply with the walking trail. Lee Gunther of Elite Concrete can bid $200 per box installed which was best price of the bids obtained. Is a disc golfer. Michele D. made inquiry re: bids as well and none were so low. Obtaining approval from local homeowners association is necessary. Andi Y. advised her contacts are no longer current. Nick E. lives in neighborhood, is one likely to know about homeowners assoc. re: traffic patterns. Also, Stallmans may have contacts, inquire with them also. Will contact and make inquiry. Texas States Nez advises as to status,
