I finally caught on to the 420 reference...very observant & oblique at the same time! Hey gang.....just wanted to throw this out there....if you are signing up online for this because it says there will be an extra $5 fee if you wait until Saturday, please ignore that! Most everyone is going to wait to sign up Saturday because of the sliding scale entry fees...they want to see who's going where & where the money's going! Besides...this is not a sanctioned event & the usual rules do not apply....we're treating it more like a mini, except it will be an all day mini! So...please do not decide not to come out because of the extra five bucks...there will be no day-of fee for the day-of course!

Thanks ERicJ. You're a gentleman and a scholar, or at least a scholar.

I had a 20 year old client from Lebanon once, and I told him that his hearing was set on 4/20, and I snickered a little when I said it...

He looked at me and said "that sucks!" So I was like, that sucks? trying to figure out the pun or something, and he said: "yea, just my luck my hearing is on Hitler's birthday... 420 must not mean 420 every where in the world

Here is the scorecard and map for tomorrow's event. The maps have circles and squares for the tees. We'll be playing the circle tees in the morning and the squares int he afternoon. Holes 19-21 will only be played in the afternoon round and only if we have enough baskets on hand.

Chuck and I walked the course and trimmed some limbs today. It sure got hot out there so make sure you bring something to drink tomorrow. It's going to be hot with a slight chance of afternoon rain to cool us off. The course is about 30% in the shade.

Birdshot will have water jugs on the course, but it sounds like we're going to have a lot of folks coming into town for this one. I've had phone calls and emails from folks as far as Beaumont and College Station about tomorrow so it is looking like a big turnout.

You might want to correct your circle/square legend on the lower scorecard or half the players are gonna be confused.

Yeah, I caught that after we got them printed... I've hand drawn circles and squares on the offending score cards. The map also has the drop zones which I also neglected to get on the printed version. You can access the map in Google Maps here. I've managed to get it loaded in Google Earth on my iPhone and used it today to find the tees.

45 folks played today's event. We played only 36 holes because no one wanted to walk an extra 2,500 feet in that sun. Combined scored ranged from 100 by Dixon Jowers to something about 50 points later by another player. We had a blast and the neighbors were very supportive and appreciative of our Saturday initiative. More details soon.
