Boxes = Garbage! Slipped probably half the time in the long tees and 1/3 of the time from the shorts.

Just out of curiousity....How many have sent in their letters of gratitude so far... Considering the title of the thread suggest that disc golfers have been asking "How can I thank the City Counsel for these asphalt tee-boxes."
ERics post is ironic to me... After all the effort and energy spent on this....he's looking for a safer place to T-off from, but he can't because the rules say he must T-off from the unsafe boxes that so much time/effort/energy has gone into creating..... All I can say is....Thank you....Thank you very much... (in my best Elvis voice) |

The parks guy (sorry can't remember his name just now) goes out to MacGregor and gets a tongue lashing from a disc golfer about what a crappy job is being done on the tee boxes. This disc golfer identifies himself as being a Moffitt regular. As a result Moffitt was moved down the list for new tee boxes. Like I said just a rumor, but that's what I heard. I'm not saying that we should all just smile and pretend the new boxes are perfect, but there is a right way and a wrong way to express concerns and problems. |

Maybe we should "thank them" for starting the project, and inquire as to when the Parks Dept will be finishing the work. As the liability seems to have grown with the current condition of the work.

Thanking them for doing "something" at MacG is a great idea.
At the same time I also think it is vitally important that the parks guy be made aware of the problems with what has been done. Even if nothing gets fixed perhaps we can prevent them from making the same mistakes somewhere else in the future. All I was saying earlier is that there is a proper way to do that. Some random golfer confronting the guy and chewing on his arse would not be my first choice. |

I still say they're better than the gravel pits that used to be there! However...I feel really bad that we had a sanctioned event there if the boxes were that bad, although having played out there three times the past few weeks I never had the slippage problems that you guys are talking about...I must be doing something wrong!
