Will tweaks be done before the tourney this Saturday?

Ill try to find that out, but in the meantime they are playable. I was there yesterday and all the pads seem to be there. Overall its impressive.

Is that for all sets of tee's or just a certain blue/gold/or red?

All 3 sets looked like they have asphalt now that I can remember, we only played the longs.

What youll notice is the top has some loose rocks, but that is supposed to be fixed. I found myself slipping a little but not too bad. That might be because of my runup though.

Players who just take a step or two and throw will do fine. Also the ground around the teeboxes is still a little rough but that is also being worked on, so if you start off the back of the box it is a bit challenging.

The boxes are not finished yet. HPARD says that the surface is not finished yet, the area around the box is not finished yet and "it is a work in progress".

it's unfortunate that they won't be finishefd before the tournament.

concrete is definitely the way to go for boxes. is the gravel going to be paved over? im not really following the process here

By comparison to asphalt, concrete is expensive and requires private funding. You are not the only one not following the process. While we at HFDS have not been provided with any construction specifications or specific time line, we have been told by HPARD that poured hot asphalt tee-boxes is the goal. We have been told by HPARD that construction is not finished and additional improvements will be made.

We can all agree what is there now is better than the gravel piles that used to be there, and we have been told additional improvements are and will be performed on the tee-boxes to the surface and the area around the tee-boxes. I recall HPARD stated they have used tamping so far and will also be using a roller to press the surface, but the areas around the tees have to be built up. it is expected that all gravel around the tees will also have asphalt poured upon it.

My prior research about asphalt roadways which I posted previously on this thread is quoted below. Check it out. The aggregate/gravel is formed into a substrate and then the hot asphalt is poured on top.

Here is the wkipedia page for asphalt:

and construction aggregate:
