Question How to edit quotes in vBulletin postings

could someone tell me how to properly edit quotes please?

A vBulletin quote must start with [QUOTE] or [quote]. It must end with [/QUOTE] or [/quote]. vBulletin tags are not case sensitive.

If you want to reference a specific user the start-of-quote tag would have "=user_name" in it, e.g. [QUOTE=derek].

If you want to reference a specific user and post. then you need the username of the user who made the post and the post number in this form: [QUOTE=derek;17253]. The easiest way to get the post number is to click the "Quote" button in a prior post.

You can multi-quote by clicking on the "+ button for all the posts you want to include, then clicking on the "Quote" button for the last post to include.

You can nest quotes to show proper reply chains, but that requires manual editing per above.
