Exclamation Course CLOSED

The LINKS is currently closed, i.e. there are no baskets, until further notice. Do NOT show up expecting to play.

The baskets were pulled for use at Tom Bass Park for TxSDGC. The Mo.City Parks department will likely be redesigning the land on which the course previously occupied.

Did you update DGCR? I noticed the other day someone reviewed it and gave no stars for no baskets. I did a search just now and couldn't find it.

The course has been marked "extinct" on DGCR. (You need to specifically include extinct courses in searches.) The link in post #1 of this thread will still get you there.

The LINKS is dead.

Long live "L2"! Okay maybe not that long... probably a year or so until the P&R Department starts digging for the park redesign.

The baskets are in and the tees are flagged. See the DGCR link in post #1 for maps and hole info. Print the maps, you'll need them.

A few of the original holes, a few of the Largo holes, and some brand new designs await anyone brave enough to challenge the second incarnation of the LINKS. The course plays "Largo style" with nine holes in one direction, then you reverse and play nine different holes in the opposite direction. Hole #4 may be one of the toughest holes you'll ever play. A '3' seems out of the question, a putt for '4' and you'll gladly take it.

Currently most of the ponds are completely dry so there aren't nearly as many lost disc opportunities as when the water is up. But the dry ponds still play OB.

me and a couple of friends went out there yesterday and it is great. this is true golf. it isn't just throw you drive the best you can and then deal with whatever putt you end up with. you have to manage the course and play for landing areas.

eric is right, #4 is diabolical if you are agressive.

also, have a map with you. most of the flags have been run over or pulled. finding the tees would be impossible if you didn't know the course.

excellent job neal.

i was playing good and shot a 58. my friends didn't fare so well. one guy was +18.

all of the ponds have water and several of them have some serious shrub/brush growth in the middle. this will make some of your upshots completely blind so make sure you have a spotter if you have to challenge the growth. on the positive side, all of this greenery makes the water clear so that if you do have to go in, it is much easier to find your disc.

Very nice. Almost certainly the course record. Nez had shot a 62 out there at one of the Tuesday Minis and I think that was the best.
