Hole lengths and par for Day-of-Course III:

Code:
1 340 3
2 380 3
3 410 3
4 360 3
5 500 4
6 520 4
7 270 3
8 660 4
9 410 3
10 360 3
11 420 3
12 430 3
13 650 4
14 480 4
15 360 3
16 520 4
17 370 3
18 680 4
19 580 4
20 550 4
21 560 4
Course par is 73. I toyed with making #13 a par 5 but I've decided against it. The course is too open to really fairly say that it needs to be a par 5. Note that hole seven is now 270' so there is an ace opportunity out there.

With the inclusion of the 9 hole ace race after the tourney there will be 30 disc golf holes out there on the 19th that will never exist again. Don't miss out, register today.

Well, I checked the list of banned players from PDGA tourneys this year and lo and behold, who's name do I see on the list for "conduct unbecoming a disc golfer" but yours. So I called up the PDGA on the international disc golf TD hotline and asked for more info on this situation. I told them "Listen here, Griff is a great guy and I am really surprised that you have him on this list. What exactly did Griff do that would get him banned?"

Then the guy at the PDGA HQ read me the list of your infractions. It was a long list that included things like throwing shoes at spectators, excessive celebration during run-ups, miterating on baskets during competition rounds, quoting Nietzsche and Rand while others are putting, selling counterfit TD cards, mocking the OB flags and general mischief. What the hell Griff?

After I got off the phone I realized that none of the above was true and what really happened is that the PDGA website lost the latest uploaded info. Both you and Andy Wright are missing and they're in my spreadsheet and I uploaded them the other day. When I get home this evening I'll re-upload the registration and get you back on the list but you have to promise not to miterate on baskets anymore.

Glad to hear it. The PDGA site is still having some issues but I have been getting registrations in and the field is growing.

Hey Chris, I know it's late in the game, but can I still register for this thing? It got such rave reviews last time, that I'd like to check it out. I hadn't realized that this is a sanctioned tourney...

I want you to know, that I had to Bing the definition of miterate and I found two. Both could be applicable however. I know which one you're meaning, Here is the "other" definition one I found:"The act of which the primary aim is to gain, regain or sustain social status, by partaking in an action that the individual perceives to be "cool".
"

(See what I mean?)

Online sign-up is open on the Birdshot site through next Friday at 6ish. After that you'll have to register on Saturday and it'll cost you an extra $5. It's going to be a lot of fun out there next weekend.

As for miterate, I was using the definition made popular by Lebowski.

That was the first time I'd ever heard of anyone actually using Bing.

One of my friends was gonna get the Samsung Fascinate, i.e. Google Android phone, but when he found out Verizon chose to put Bing on it instead of Google search... he said "no thanks".

I use both...but I've found that whatever I'm looking for is more frequently located on the first page of a Bing search where I have to spend more time looking for stuff on Google.

We've switched over to using Bing maps at work for our GIS jazz, and it's tons faster than Google Earth Premium.

All search engines seem about the same to me...
