The club running it was the "bust" cause Victoria had great courses, everything else was just missing or 3C style you might say....remember, Corpus Christi is almost in Mexico, they just have a different pace, and place value on different things......great folks, but should have NEVER been allowed to run another A-tier. Their first venture was also a bust a couple years back.
Don't knock the event, knock the TD........as many people have run the event over the years..........I would expect that Riverside might step up again next year..............and I was told it would go back to 3rd weekend in Febuary, where it belongs...........kicking off the new season. Catering to touring pros helps us how?

It was mainly the debates over ob's and where to play from due to no course guides. It was the difference in three or four strokes just for tiff. The scores not being posted was more for the rest of us trying to follow along from home.

Patrick, I was referring to the swing thing......not the rule that has always been the same way every year I've played it, and I know the TD had played the event more than once.

If done correctly it would bring a lot of attention to Texas disc golf. Done poorly it will further lock in the idea that Texas tournaments and courses are inferior to others around the country.
The Riverside course looked very beautiful I must say and our card even got to watch a 20 minute reality show before teeing off on the last hole. |

When, in an effort to show off, we slam a bunch of events together, creating additional stress for our TEXAS TD's and a BIG inconvenience for locals wanting to play all the events like we normally do......... just not in four weeks. How can that be expected to "improve" our image? Or maybe more care should have been taken in selecting TD/Clubs to be involved in such a venture. It used to be it took a lot to get the "approval" to run an A-tier, not these days................
Victoria is a great event over the years, to me it is sad when someone's first experience was like this "circus" that they call Third Coast. Once again, shame on those who approached 3C without proper investigation. 3C had the same result several years ago when they tried to run their first A-tier (and that was in CC) Or did they know and in an effort to get what they wanted, they threw us ALL under the bus.
