To Tarazar....please don't let this forum make you think that there's no fun to be had with us Houston discers. I'm trying to not let any of this stuff from the past couple of weeks bring me down (even when it's gotten downright personal)...we're still going forward with the Birdshot series (Kingwood & Spring Valley are both up on titledisc now) and at least Chuck & myself have no plans to stop after the first of the year. I don't know...maybe it would be a good idea to have a tournament every two months instead of monthly...but we kind've like the idea of having one available every month (without having to drive out of town). Now if someone else out there should decide to start a series of their own, I'm sure we would happily back off & participate...although if you've been following this thread lately one would wonder why you would be crazy enough to try. Well...I guess we're crazy enough...and love to play enough...to keep 'em flying, fellow birdshooters!

LOL! Smile when you say that.
Also, bmugwump is right. We all have a lot of fun anytime we get together. Even those of us that don't like each other.

Uncle. This was never a fight. Let's all just go visit with MJ and chill out.
Matt, when it comes to Texas States, I don't think you understand what I was trying to convey. There are many of us who have staffed and haven't played the event in years. As I recall, you thought you would enjoy the weekend more by staffing, and your help was signifigent and appreciated. Everyone should have to staff every once in a while. Seems like everyone around here is very defensive of their position and philosophy, and some of us are out spoken. Having tried to communicate with MB of Birdshot at the beginning, I knew that the only way to get there attention was out in public. Or that was the it seemed. From the get go, there has been bad blood and discension that might have colored my opinion, and for that I am sorry. So, I should follow the advice I have on the bumper of my car...... SHUT UP AND THROW.

To all: I apologize for being offensive in any way. I love this sport and the people I've met in Houston on the course. The statements I made about MJ were simply to point out that Disc Golfers in general are people that don't necessarily believe all rules should be followed. I for one have witnessed many a foot fault that I just didn't see the point in calling someone on (i.e. it gave them no competitive advantage.) I was angry yesterday that Birdshot was being slammed repeatedly and people were talking about how they wouldn't play the tournaments. I'm not angry today, just feel bad that things have gotten heated. I know that many have dedicated years to TXSDGC, but I also know that the level of effort I personally put into this years event and website cut into much of my work and family time. Sue's comments make me not feel like volunteering again and that is not a good thing. I'm sorry for any bad feelings, lets all just have more fun.

A photo, lol, heck we must have 50 photos of it. In the sun, in the fog, above it, below it, crossing it, etc,
I have to say riding across it on the bike was pretty cool. One of the problems with digital cameras and huge memory cards is that it's too tempting to take way too many photos. I would highly recommend San Francisco as a vaction spot. Not only the city but traveling a couple of hours in any direction offers a lot of options. For anyone that's interested, go to youtube.com and search for hfds006. I've posted a good humpback whale video there. .................We now return to our regularly scheduled discussion thread. |

no sweat Matt P. we all get those feelings from time to time and express them as well. I know I have walked away from volunteering before not feeling to appreciated myself. It goes away. I always have to remind myself not to take anyone's word personal, good or bad. on that note you are great. lol |

You volunteer for the feeling it gives you, and the good karma that comes. You are doing something for disc golf. For me appreciation is accepted but not expected.
