Come on out for our first official mini at Memorial Drive Baptist Church on Saturday, June 5th! I haven't had the pleasure of playing there yet, so I'm looking forward to it. There are only six holes there so we will be playing them 3 times....not sure if we're going to have alternates for the alternates or what....but I know we'll be limited to 30 players max (and that's with fivesomes!). See more details at www.houstonbirdshot.com.

Doug, we usually don't have pre-registration for the minis....since we started using PayPal we've had a couple of people (literally) sign up online, but just those couple of people. Since we're so limited on this one though, maybe it would be a good idea...although I still don't think it's likely we would get 30 players. You never know, though....

We were talking about this tourney last night at Miramar league....given the nature of the course, we are thinking of possibly making this one a "three disc challenge". Pick a driver, a midrange & a putter...or three of any discs even (if you're Steve Dufrane, you bring three Rocs!)...I guess that doesn't matter. Just don't do like Chuck did last year at Jester...he carried his whole bag but SAID he was only using three discs out of it!
This isn't set in stone (yet!)...but you might want to count on it!

In other words, it sounds like nobody would have a problem with using just the three discs....so that is probably what we will do. I haven't played there yet, so I couldn't really say...I was just going by what others have told me. I had fun doing the 3 disc thing for your birthday last year, ERic...and that was even at night! Less luggage to carry around as well...hope all 30 of you show up! See you Saturday!

I say we should play this mini with only three discs. Last year's three disc round at TC Jester was a blast (except for the rain) and Memorial Drive Baptist Chruch is a great course for this type of challenge.

Okay then, let's take the "probably" factor out of this equation....we will "definitely" be playing this mini as a three disc challenge! If you hang one in a tree, then you'll just have to use the other two until you pass by your car on the way around! It was so tempting to call this mini The 666 Mini, but we figured the church might get upset about that...we can suggest, however, that your three discs be annointed as the Father, Son & Holy Ghost....Father being the driver (as dad's most often are), midrange is the Son and, of course, your putter has to be the Holy Ghost!

The driver is the father because you throw it farther than the other discs. The mid-range is the Son because it saves you. The putter is the Holy Ghost because it makes you speak in tongues when you miss. Anyhow, I'm anxious to show off my new black nutsac and it is perfect for a three disc challenge.
