Definitely a tournament not to be missed. The course is challenging AND fun and the format takes it over the top for a great time and the bar-b-que and the pool and the shaded patio area and a great group of dg'ers and this dog, that's all I need.

Here's information on this great event.

2008 EBERLY RANCH / POWERS INDUSTRIES OPEN
September 13, 2008

You are all cordially invited to the Eberly Ranch / Powers Industries Open disc golf tournament.

It is held on a beautiful 1300 acre ranch at Chappell Hill Texas about 45 minutes Northwest or 290/1960. The course is played on a " Cowboy golf course" designed around a ten acre lake. The course is not a pitch and putt course and is similar in length to the Powell course at Tom Bass park. Hole seven is an island green (about 275ft to the pin) and we play it tin cup. If you miss the island you re-tee -- miss again and you re-tee(you get the picture).

My goal again this year is to pay out 100% of the entry fees in cash, to all
divisions. I may however have to charge a 5.00 "Ranch Fee" this year --- the jury is still out on that. Also, I plan to have a full BBQ meal again this year ( BBQ plate, chips and drink) free with each paid entry. Non players will be charged $5.00 each. To accomplish this I am asking anyone who is able to donate a $25.00 hole sponsorship, which will get you an 8 1/2 X 11 tee sign somewhere on the course.

You may bring your family, guests or even if you are not going to be able to play, just come out and hang out for the day. You may bring your dog but it must be kept under control at all times as there are cattle, donkeys, horses, elk, zebras, whitails, blackbucks and oreks on the ranch. Be sure and bring your bathing suits as there is a swimming pool just above the course that is a great place to cool off between rounds.

Sign up will be the morning of the tournament, however I will need you to RSVP no later than Wednesday night September 10, 9:00PM as we will be serving a full BBQ lunch. You may e-mail me (hfds081 at yahoo.com) call me at (713 409 7751) or leave a message on the HFDS message board and let me know if you are comming and how many guests you are bringing so we will prepare enough food for everyone.

Remember, you must be signed up by 8:30AM to get in!!!!!!!!

P.S.
Dont't forget, I am looking for a a bunch of good hole
sponsors (shamefull plug(Grin)). You can send checks to:

Wow, Ed. Swimming holes, good eats, exotic animals AND disc golf? What more could a girl want? Can't wait to meet you.

ED, it might be a good idea to explain how the island hole is scored when someone goes into the drink. ie: after going into the water and re-teeing you would be shooting your third shot?

Sounds like you've experienced the rath of the island. I know Larry enjoyed that hole a few years ago.

Richard and I will be attending, hope we have a good ladies showing.

Bump.

I know this is always a great event. We plan to be in attendance. I was with KT over the weekend, and she's planning on coming from Austin, too. From what I gathered, we will have a good showing from Moffitt players also.

See everyone next Saturday.

I'm definately in for this one!

This is a fantastic setup all the way around!

For those of you with non-disc golfing family, there is a great swimming pool facility, and lots of other areas around the ranch to see and explore.

This event is always a blast and I highly recommend playing in it!

I know that I'll be there for sure, and maybe Melissa will accompany me and either play or hang out at the pool. Hope to see a good crowd of you folks out there!

Will this location be a good evacuation location? I'll need a place to run and hide...
