I called the parks dept. related to spraying and grass cutting.

The Lake Duke area holes was not as bad as the original course yesterday. And the golfing was awesome.

I understand that the grass was cut and the county sprayed the area from the air. Not sure that will help much with the millions of skeeters that were out there Sunday.

League play is no like Donkey Kong. Come beat the pro if can. Don't forget to bring your entry fee and ace pot money. I'll be there around 4pm if anyone wants to get in an early warm-up session.

Cool, Jake! I'm by myself at work today so I'll be lucky to get out there by 5:30! I told Chuck that he'd better wait on me....looking forward to some disc golf & skeeters (maybe not so much the skeeters!). I think jeans & a long sleeve shirt might be in order...I'd rather be hot than eaten! Talkatchalater...Billy

Thumbs up Re: Jack Brooks League

The skeeters were bad alright. But we did have 9 players sign up for a total of 14 now. 8-Expert, 3-Advanced, 2-Intermediate, 1-Novice. For results see the course board or go to Birdshot's website under additional links. www.birdshot.com

I guess Sam, Cidro, Beau and John didn't sign up for league; cause I counted at least 12 to 13 players on the course.

The key to playing when mosquitos are bad is limiting the number of players on the card at 3. That really helped things move fast.

Boo and Ynfante shot the hot rounds, although Mr. Solis shot a nice 49...

It's still not too late to get in on the league you lurkers out there... Come get some!!!

Those guys signed up for league, Jake....Chuck meant we had an additional nine players apart from the five of us that started last week. If you want to play this six week period then you would have to start this Thursday (hurricanes permitting) and you would have to count all the next four games. Your two worst scores that you could drop will have been used up already for not playing the first two weeks....but you guys that always shoot well anyway should have no problem with that. If not, we will be starting up another six-week league as soon as this one's over & you can get in it next time around.

I have Michael Solis at 50. I will bring the scorecard with me. He had 6 birdies and 2 bogeys. 2 stroke penalty for wrong score No, this is not PDGA. No stroke penalty. I will have to repost the results since I had Cody Cruthers as an expert instead of advanced. Next week might be a drop because of Gustav. There can be up to 2 drops each league for weather and/or holidays. Any more than that and we will extend the league

Looks like we're on for week three tomorrow....Chuck usually gets there by 4:30, but you can always grab a scorecard out of the box by #1 & get started if you want. Remember...at least one other league player with you on a card to verify scores....we really thought there should be at least two other league players playing with you, but that doesn't always work out. After this six weeks, I think we're probably going to move this thing to Sunday afternoons...we'll have to move it to the weekend in a few weeks anyway when we lose daylight at 5:30. Also I am sure we'd get more players then...see you guys tomorrow!

I will sponsor a CTP (a disc and mini set) on hole #10 during league tomorrow.

Come and take a shot at the #4 tag as well. I said I would dominate!

CTP on #10? I wonder how many people will get lost in the woods trying to win that one? Some of you guys can park it almost every time...I've only done it once or twice myself...but then, we're talking about me here! See you guys tomorrow afternoon!
